Christian VI Of Denmark
Christian VI (30 November 1699 – 6 August 1746) was King of Denmark and Norway from 1730 to 1746. The eldest surviving son of Frederick IV and Louise of Mecklenburg-Güstrow, he is considered one of Denmark-Norway's more anonymous kings, but he was a skilled politician, best known for his authoritarian regime. He was the first king of the Oldenburg dynasty to refrain from entering in any war. During his reign both compulsory confirmation (1736) and a public, nationwide school system (1739) were introduced. His chosen motto was "''Deo et populo''" (for God and the people). Early years Christian was born on 30 November 1699 at Copenhagen Castle as the second but eldest surviving son of King Frederick IV of Denmark by his first consort, Louise of Mecklenburg-Güstrow. Johan Ludvig Holstein-Ledreborg
Johan Ludvig Holstein, Lensgreve til Ledreborg (7 September 1694 – 29 January 1763) was a Danish Minister of state from 1735 to 1751. The Danish colony Holsteinsborg on Greenland (now Sisimiut), was named after him. He was the ancestor of the Holstein-Ledreborg family, including Ludvig Holstein-Ledreborg and Knud Johan Ludvig, Lensgreve Holstein til Ledreborg, husband of Princess Marie Gabriele of Luxembourg. In 1739 he built Ledreborg Manor near Lejre, Denmark. Early life Johan Ludvig was the son of Johan Georg Holstein, who would himself become Danish prime minister, and Ida Frederikke Joachime of the Bülow family. He was born on 7 September 1694, at the Lübz castle which belonged to his maternal grandmother. His tutors during his upbringing included J. W. Theatrum Anatomico-chirurgicum was an anatomical theatre which existed from 1736 until 1785 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Roulunds Fabrikker was a manufacturer of vehicle brake pads, brake shoes & brake discs. History The company dates to 7 November 1837 in Odense, Denmark. The company was founded when Laurits Winther (1705-1791) was granted citizenship as a ropemaker. His rope works was located at Sortebrødre Torv. It was continued by his son Søren Michael Winther (1755-1802) and grandson Rasmus Winther (1783-1823). Rasmus Winther's widow, Christiane Benedicte Winther née Ottesen took over the operations after her husband's death and ran the company until her own death in 1831. The company was then passed on to Rasmus Roulund (1806-1870), the son of the founder's daughter. His son, Peter Roulund (1839-1915), started a production of drive belts in 1872. The company was converted into a limited company (''aktieselskab'') in 19303. Hans W. Andersen was appointed to CEO in 1911 and the company moved to new premises on Rugårdsvej in 1917. Jacob Nicolai Wilse
Jacob Nicolai Wilse (January 24, 1736 – May 23, 1801) was a parish priest in Spydeberg and Eidsberg, Norway. He was born in Lemvig, Denmark and is known for writing topographic works with extensive descriptions of travel in Norway in the 1790s. Wilse is considered Østfold county's first significant cultural researcher and one of the fathers of Norwegian village history. His friend Hans Strøm also wrote topographical works for Sunnmøre and Eiker. Like Strøm, Wilse authored one of the first descriptions of the relationship between nature and human activity. He was also an Enlightenment-era philosopher, a so-called " potato priest" ( no, potetprest). Wilse was an early supporter of Norway having its own university, and he also envisioned a women's university. Frederik Georg Adeler
Frederik Georg Adeler (1736-1810) was a Danish-Norwegian county official and landowner. He was the son of Frederik Adeler, as well as great-grandchild of Admiral Cort Adeler. Frederik Georg Adeler inherited and lived on the large estate at the Gimsøy Abbey with a manor house and headquarters at Klosterøya in Skien. He served as the County Governor and Diocesan Governor in various counties from 1764 until 1788. Adeler served in the military from 1755 until 1764, reaching the rank of Major. After leaving the military, he was appointed county governor of Bratsberg on 30 July 1764, when he was 28 years old. On 20 February 1771, he was transferred against his will to be the county governor of Lister og Mandal county, because "his right of first refusal for timber, as owner of Gimsø, came into conflict with his office" in Bratsberg.
