Quang Hải was born in Đông Anh in 1997, joined Hanoi T&T's youth academy at the age of 9. By 2013, he played in the under-19 league at the age of 16. After playing for Vietnam at various youth levels, Quang Hải made his debut for the Vietnam national team in 2017. His first goal came against
