1900s

On 3 May 1899, Ferencvárosi TC was founded by citizens of the ninth district of Budapest. Ferenc Springer, a lawyer from the same district, was nominated as the first chairman of the club. The club's budget was raised by a ball held in order to celebrate the establishment of the club. The club's first pitch was built on Soroksári avenue in the ninth district. On 3 December 1900, the football department of Ferencváros was officially founded. Two months later, in February, the first match of the Hungarian League was played between Ferencváros and
