Budapesti Gyárépítők SE was a Hungarian association football club from Budapest. The club was founded as Zuglói Athletikai Club in 1911. In 1950 the club merged to Budafoki MTE. Budafoki Munkás Testedző Egyesület is a Hungarian football club from the town of Budafok, Budapest, Hungary. The club currently plays in the Nemzeti Bajnokság II. History The club was founded in 1912 as Világosság Football Club. At that time, Budafok was not part of Budapest; it joined the capital city only in 1950, along with other towns such as Újpest and Kispest. Budafok mostly played in the second division of Hungarian football hierarchy, the Nemzeti Bajnokság II between World War I and World War II. However, the club got promoted and debuted in the 1945–46 season of the Hungarian League, and finished ninth. The manager of the club in the top division was the legendary Gusztáv Sebes. The NB II, currently known as the Merkantil Bank Liga for sponsorship reasons, is the second tier of Hungarian football. At the end of the 2004–05 season, the tournament format was changed from one division of 14 teams to two divisions: ''Keleti'' (Eastern) and ''Nyugati'' (Western), each with 16 teams, though now it's just one league table with 16 teams as of the 2024–25 season. The champion and the runner-up will ascend to the first division while the two lowest teams in NB II are relegated to NB III. The Turul is a mythological bird of prey, mostly depicted as a falcon, in Hungarian tradition and Turkic tradition, and a national symbol of Hungarians. Origin The Turul is probably based on a large falcon. Gábor Obitz
Gábor Obitz also known as Gábor Óbecsei and Gábor Ormai (18 January 1899 – 20 March 1953) was a Hungarian football player and manager. Playing career Obitz started his career in Ferencváros. After winning the Hungarian Cup title in 1922 he moved to Czechoslovakia and played two seasons for Makkabi Brno. In 1924 he joined German club Holstein Kiel. He ended his career with Ferencváros. Obitz capped 15 times for the Hungary national team and participated the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris. Coaching career Obitz' first team as a manager was a Romanian club AMEF Arad. From 1932 to 1934 he worked for the Turkish Football Federation. He coached NK Ljubljana in the 1936–37 Yugoslav Football Championship. In 1939 Obitz started coaching the Finland national team but soon returned to Hungary due to World War II.
