Yeung Hok-ling
Yeung Hok-ling (楊鶴齡) (1868 - 29 August 1934), courtesy name Lai-ha (禮遐), was a Chinese revolutionary. He is one of the Four Bandits, together with Sun Yat-sen, Yau Lit and Chan Siu-bak. Biography Born in Macau, Yeung's hometown was at Cuiheng Village at Zhongshan in Guangdong, which was also the hometown of Sun Yat-sen and Lu Haodong. Yeung entered the Canton Academy of Mathematics (廣州算學館) in 1886. In 1888, he went to Hong Kong and stayed at Yeung Yiu Kee (楊耀記), his family shop on Gough Street, Sheung Wan. In 1890, Yeung introduced Yau Lit, his classmate at the Canton Academy of Mathematics, to Sun Yat-sen, his old friend from Cuiheng. Sun then introduced them to Chan Siu-bak, his classmate at the Hong Kong College of Medicine for Chinese. Sheung Wan
Sheung Wan (Chinese: 上環) is an List of places in Hong Kong, area in Hong Kong, located in the north-west of Hong Kong Island, between Central, Hong Kong, Central and Sai Ying Pun. Administratively, it is part of the Central and Western District. The name can be variously interpreted as ''Upper District'' (occupying relatively high ground compared to Central and Wan Chai), or ''Gateway District'' (perhaps a reference to the location where the British first entered and occupied Hong Kong). Xinhai Revolution
The 1911 Revolution, also known as the Xinhai Revolution or Hsinhai Revolution, ended China's last imperial dynasty, the Qing dynasty, and led to the establishment of the Republic of China (ROC). The revolution was the culmination of a decade of agitation, revolts, and uprisings. Its success marked the collapse of the Chinese monarchy, the end of over two millennia of imperial rule in China and the 200-year reign of the Qing, and the beginning of China's early republican era. The Qing had struggled for a long time to reform the government and resist foreign aggression, but the program of reforms after 1900 was opposed by conservatives in the Qing court as too radical and by reformers as too slow. Shiqi District
Shiqi Subdistrict, also known as Shiqiqu Subdistrict, is a subdistrict located in the center of Zhongshan city, covering an area of , and a population of 257,472 (2020). The subdistrict administers 19 residential communities, and is home to major industrial and commercial activity. Shiqi was historically spelled Shekki in English, and is nicknamed Tiecheng (). Hospital Kiang Wu
Kiang Wu Hospital (KWH; ) is a private district general hospital is located in Santo António, Macau. It is one of the three hospitals in Macau. Founded in 1871, the hospital is run by the Kiang Wu Charitable Association and offered Chinese medical services. Renowned doctor Sun Yat-Sen brought Western medicine services to the hospital. The hospital has had four different sites, the last built in 2000. Till 2019 there was no Western-style medical school in Macau, so all indigenous intending doctors have to either qualify overseas, or qualified doctors have to be brought in from outside. The University of Hong Kong Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine (branded as HKUMed) is the medical school of the University of Hong Kong (HKU), a public research university. It was founded in 1887 as the Hong Kong College of Medicine for Chinese, one of the oldest western medical schools in the Asia–Pacific region, and which served as the base for HKU's founding in 1910.
