Woodlawn Leadership Academy, formerly Woodlawn High School, is a public senior high school in Shreveport, Louisiana, United States, and a part of the Caddo Parish Public Schools. History The contract for construction of Woodlawn High was given to W. A. McMichael Construction Company in August 1958 with the final cost of construction in 1960 being $2,660,300. The school opened in September 1960 with 1,000 students. Woodlawn High School and the Caddo Parish School Board began integrating during the 1969–70 school year. Knight
A knight is a person granted an honorary title of knighthood by a head of state (including the Pope) or representative for service to the monarch, the church or the country, especially in a military capacity. Terry Paxton Bradshaw (born September 2, 1948) is an American former professional football player who was a quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League (NFL). Since 1994, he has been a television sports analyst and co-host of ''Fox NFL Sunday''. Henry L. Black (born January 3, 1997) is an American football free safety for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Baylor. College career Black was a member of the Baylor Bears for five seasons, redshirting as a true freshman. Louisiana Sports Hall Of Fame
The Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame is located in the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame & Northwest Louisiana History Museum – Natchitoches in a new facility in the downtown historic district in Natchitoches, Louisiana. After years of planning and construction, the LHOF opened on June 28, 2013. Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne, whose office handles state tourism matters, was on hand for the grand opening. The museum had been fifty-five years in search of a permanent home. Many of the artifacts had previously been stored at Prather Coliseum on the campus of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. Lee Hedges
Junior Lee Hedges (born November 2, 1929) is, with 217 victories, the winningest high school football coach in the history of Shreveport-Bossier City in northwestern Louisiana. In 2001, the Caddo Parish School Board renamed the football stadium at Captain Shreve High School in Hedges' honor. In 2010, he was elected to the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame in Natchitoches. Overview Hedges is a native of rural Fifty-Six in Stone County near Mountain View in northern Arkansas. In the middle 1940s, he played football at Fair Park High School in Shreveport. Robert Lee Parish (born August 30, 1953) is an American former professional basketball player who played 21 seasons as a center in the National Basketball Association (NBA), tied for second most in league history. He played an NBA-record 1,611 games in his career. Parish was known for his strong defense, high arcing jump shots, and clutch rebounding late in games.
