Wayne Steeves
O. Wayne Steeves (born December 12, 1944) is a politician in the province of New Brunswick, Canada. Steeves was born in Lower Coverdale, New Brunswick, the son of Noel Steeves and Vera Downing. A Progressive Conservative, he has been a candidate for the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick for the electoral district of Albert in every election since 1991. Defeated in 1991 and 1995, Steeves was finally elected in 1999. He was re-elected in 2003 and joined the cabinet as minister of public safety. He was again re-elected in 2006 but left the cabinet as his party formed the opposition. Department Of Public Safety (New Brunswick)
The Department of Justice and Public Safety in the Canadian province of New Brunswick was formed when Premier Brian Gallant restructured government departments in 2016. It was a merger of all of the former Department of Public Safety with most of the former Department of Justice with the exception of the responsibilities for financial consumer services which transferred from Justice to the Department of Finance. Public Safety had been created in an earlier restructuring project by the Bernard Lord government on March 23, 2000. Harry Doyle (born February 23, 1941) is an educator and former political figure in New Brunswick, Canada. John Winston Foran
John Winston Foran (born March 13, 1952) was a New Brunswick politician and retired police officer. He was a member of Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick representing the electoral district of Miramichi Centre. Early life Foran was born in Newcastle, New Brunswick, Canada. He was a member of the local school board and of the Newcastle municipal council for four terms, including service as deputy mayor and acting mayor prior to Newcastle becoming a part of the City of Miramichi. When Miramichi became a city, Foran was made the superintendent of the Miramichi Police Force, having previously been the chief of police for Chatham. The 2014 New Brunswick general election was held on September 22, 2014, to elect 49 members to the 58th New Brunswick Legislative Assembly, the governing house of the province of New Brunswick, Canada. The 2013 redistribution reduced the size of the legislature from 55 seats to 49. The New Brunswick Liberal Association, led by Brian Gallant, won a majority government, defeating Incumbent Premier David Alward's Progressive Conservatives, which became the second single-term government in New Brunswick's history. The New Democratic Party, led by Dominic Cardy won the highest support in its history, though failed to win any seats. As a result of these losses, both Alward and Cardy resigned as leaders of their respective parties.
