White Base
The SCV-70 ''White Base'' (ホワイトベース ''Howaito Bēsu''), also nicknamed Trojan Horse (木馬 ''Mokuba''), is a fictional spaceship from the Japanese science fiction anime series ''Mobile Suit Gundam''. It serves as the mothership of the protagonist Earth Federation crew members and the famous RX-78-2 Gundam mobile suit. Various spin-offs are designed after it, including a whole class of ships called the ''Pegasus-class'' assault carrier, and it has inspired ships in the sequels like the ''Argama-class'' in '' Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam'' and ''Archangel-class'' in '' Mobile Suit Gundam SEED''. Other non-''Gundam'' spaceships, such as the transformed mode of Fortress Maximus from the ''Transformers'' series, are possibly also inspired by ''White Bases design. Earth Federation (Gundam)
is a Japanese military science fiction media franchise. Created by Yoshiyuki Tomino and Sunrise (now Bandai Namco Filmworks), the franchise features giant robots, or mecha, with the name "Gundam". The franchise began on April 7, 1979, with ''Mobile Suit Gundam'', a TV series that defined the "real robot" mecha anime genre by featuring giant robots called powered exoskeleton, mobile suits (including the RX-78-2 Gundam, original titular mecha) in a militaristic setting. Yoshiyuki Tomino
is a Japanese anime director, screenwriter, songwriter and novelist best known for creating the ''Gundam'' anime franchise. Early life and family Tomino was born on November 5, 1941, in Odawara, Kanagawa Prefecture, to an old family of regional landowners in Ōjima (in present-day Kōtō, Tokyo). His grandfather Kiheiji Tomino was the mayor of Ōjima and statutory auditor of Ōtsuka Rubber Works. His father Kihei Tomino was an employee at Japan Processed Fabrics, and his mother Sachiko was the daughter of town councillor and celluloid toy manufacturer Sakichi Tanaka. Zaku
The is a fictional line of "Mobile Suits" or mecha (human-piloted giant robots) from ''Mobile Suit Gundam'', part of the fictional universe of the Universal Century, where they are the Principality of Zeon's most commonly fielded Mobile Suits. The most widely known model is the MS-06 Zaku II series. It is redesigned by Kunio Okawara based upon the earlier draft by the series director Yoshiyuki Tomino, in which only the name was kept. The Zaku II has seen various redesigns and variants for hundreds of pieces of merchandise, and the Japan Post, Japanese post office has two stamps with Zaku IIs on them. Amuro Ray
is a fictional character introduced in Sunrise (studio), Sunrise's 1979 anime series ''Mobile Suit Gundam''. As the first protagonist in the franchise, Amuro is a mechanic who becomes the pilot of the mecha known as RX-78-2 Gundam to protect himself from the Zeon forces invading his space colony during the war. He becomes an Earth Federation pilot in the war as well as the first Newtype, a type of human with special awareness which gives him great skills when fighting. The Gundam franchise explores Amuro's involvement in the wars piloting the titular mecha.
