West Coast Highway, Singapore
West Coast Highway (; ; ) is a major arterial road in Singapore which links Jurong industrial estate and Clementi New Town to the city. It is an at-grade intersection, at-grade road from its junction with Pandan Loop and West Coast Road to its interchange with Pasir Panjang Road, where it becomes a grade separation, grade-separated viaduct; the viaduct merges with Keppel Road before its interchange with Ayer Rajah Expressway. The total length of the highway is 11 km. The viaduct is newer than the at-grade section, having been completed in 2006. Despite what its name may suggest, the speed limit on the highway is less than that of an expressway. The highway also has a few traffic light junctions, something that expressways do not have. The at-grade section of the highway is a three-lane dual carriageway, and the viaduct is a two-lane dual carriageway with a 1-metre hard shoulder. West Coast is a subzone located in the town of Clementi, Singapore, Clementi, the West Region, Singapore, western part of Singapore. The subzone currently lies in the West Coast Group Representation Constituency, West Coast GRC. Although the West Coast subzone has its boundaries demarcated by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), adjacent subzones, namely Pandan, portions of Clementi Central, Clementi Woods and the Queenstown, Singapore, Port, are commonly regarded as part of West Coast by the general public, due to their proximity to West Coast Park, a defying landmark of the area. Boon Lay (, ) is a neighbourhood located in the town of Jurong West in the West Region, Singapore, West Region of Singapore. Its borders very roughly correspond to the URA subzone of Boon Lay Place, situated within the Jurong West Planning Area. Nicoll Highway ( , , , ) is a major arterial road in Singapore which links the junctions of Guillemard Road, Sims Way and Mountbatten Road in Kallang to the junctions of Esplanade Drive, Raffles Avenue and Stamford Road in the city. The Outer Ring Road System, or more commonly known as ORRS, is a network of major arterial roads in Singapore that forms a 19km ring road through the towns along the city fringe. The ORRS is a semi-expressway, just like the West Coast Highway. Since 1994, roads along the ORRS have been upgraded in stages to provide a smoother route to travel across the island. Roads and interchanges along the ORRS are constantly being upgraded to cater to the ever increasing traffic demand. HarbourFront is a waterfront district situated in southern Singapore. Whilst HarbourFront's boundaries are ambiguous, its location is roughly represented on the URA's Master Plan as a subzone called Maritime Square, located within the Bukit Merah Planning Area.
