Wakefield High School is a Wake County public high school located in Raleigh, North Carolina. The school is adjacent to Wakefield Elementary and Wakefield Middle schools. History Wakefield High School's building was completed and opened in 1999. For the 1999–2000 school year, the building was occupied by students from Sanderson High School, while their school was under renovation. For that school year, the name of the school was Sanderson High School at Wakefield. In 2000, Wakefield students inhabited the building for the first official school year of Wakefield High. Schedule The school year at Wakefield High School starts in late August and ends in early June. The class schedule, commonly referred to as "block scheduling", has four different classes each semester, each block being approximately ninety minutes long. Justin Hughes (soccer)
Justin Hughes (born April 23, 1985) is a former American soccer player, who currently works as an Investment Advisor with Renaissance Financial in Omaha, Nebraska. Career College and amateur Hughes was born in Wake Forest, North Carolina. He attended Wakefield High School, where he was an NSCAA adidas All-American, played club soccer for Raleigh CASL Elite, and played college soccer at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. At UNC he was named to the All-ACC Academic Team as a junior in 2005. During his college years Hughes also played with Raleigh Elite in the USL Premier Development League. Veronica Fraley
Veronica Fraley (born May 27, 2000) is an American track and field athlete who competes in the discus throw. Early life She is from Raleigh, North Carolina, and attended Wakefield High School. As a junior, Fraley lead the state in the Shot Put, Discus and Hammer Throw. She committed to Clemson University in October 2017. She later attended Vanderbilt University. Career She threw a personal best 53.57m in the discus at the Penn Relays in May 2018. That spring she also won the Bojangles Track and Field Classic and before the Pepsi Florida Relays. Timothy Max Adleman (born November 13, 1987) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. Heritage High School is a public four year high school located in Wake Forest, North Carolina. A part of the Wake County Public School System, Heritage High School is home to over 1,900 students in 9th–12th grade. History Heritage High School opened in 2010 in response to rapid population growth throughout Wake Forest. During the 2009–2010 school year, the campus was used by the students and staff of Wake Forest-Rolesville High School while their campus underwent renovations.
