Vulture Street is a road in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It connects the inner southern suburbs. Its eastern segment is known as Vulture Street East. Geography Vulture Street commences at a junction with Montague Road, West End () and then travels east through West End, South Brisbane, Kangaroo Point and East Brisbane, where it terminates at a junction at Stanley Terrace () being unable to go further east due to Norman Creek. Stanley Street, Brisbane
Stanley Street is a major street in Brisbane, Queensland. It carries the designation state route 41 for the entirety of its length and state route 10 between the Vulture Street and Annerley Road intersections. For the majority of its length the road is a one-way carriageway westbound. The route is a major connector between the Southern and Eastern suburbs and South Brisbane. The street passes directly to the south of The Gabba and runs directly through the Mater Hospital precinct. Stanley Street is accessible via exit 2 on the Pacific Motorway. History Stanley Street was named after Frederick Stanley, 16th Earl of Derby, the United Kingdom's Colonial Secretary, 1885-1886. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 24 April 2018. Somerville House is an independent, boarding and day school for girls, located in South Brisbane, an inner-city suburb of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Cleveland Railway Line
The Cleveland railway line is a suburban railway line extending east-southeast from Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland, Australia. It is part of the Queensland Rail City network. History Following the opening of the Wooloongabba Branch railway line from Corinda to Stanley Street in South Brisbane in 1884, calls were made for extending the line to Cleveland to serve the developing farming area. A line was surveyed, and took an indirect route to avoid hilly country and to serve Fort Lytton, a gun emplacement at the south entrance to the Brisbane River, then the major defence installation for the city. Beenleigh Railway Line
The Beenleigh railway line is a suburban railway line extending east-southeast from Brisbane Central railway station, the state capital of Queensland, Australia. It is part of the Queensland Rail City network. History Originally known as the Logan railway line, the line opened to Loganlea in April 1885 being the first section of the South Coast line which was opened beyond Beenleigh to Southport in 1889. The original city terminus of the line was Stanley St, South Brisbane until a dual track line was constructed from Dutton Park to South Brisbane opposite the Victoria Bridge opening in 1891.
