Vallcebre
Vallcebre is a municipality in the comarca of Berguedà, Catalonia. It comprises two towns: ''Vallcebre'' proper, and the village of ''Sant Julià de Fréixens''. History The town was first documented in the year 893, when it was mentioned as ''Balcebre'' in a document describing the consecration of the Cathedral of la Seu d'Urgell. By 983, a castle existed in the town, of which there is no trace today. The municipality in former times was controlled in part by the Abbot of Bagà and the barons of Peguera. By the 15th century, it had become part of the possessions of the Foix family. Culture The parochial church is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the patroness of the town, and is of relatively recent origin, having only been constructed in 1931. Berguedà
Berguedà () is an inland comarca (county) in Catalonia, Spain, lying partly in the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees, and partly in the Catalan Central Depression. Geography The northern half of Berguedà, known as Alt Berguedà (“Upper Berguedà”), consists of the upper Llobregat Valley and the mountainous areas surrounding it. Its northern border is a veritable mountain barrier: Berguedà is separated from Cerdanya by a chain of 2,000-meter peaks. These include the mountain ranges of Cadí, Moixeró, Puig d' Alp and Puigllançada. In this area the population is centered mainly in the Llobregat Valley and the valleys of the rivers Bagà, Bastareny and Saldes. Gisclareny
Gisclareny is a municipality in the comarca of Berguedà, Catalonia, located in Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park. 2018 it again became the smallest village in Catalonia after the village of Sant Jaume de Frontanyà grew by 3 families. The altitude of the inhabited space varies between 800 meters in the neighborhood of Bagà and 1430 in the neighborhood of Coll de la Bena. It is bounded on the north by the Cerdanya, reaching the peaks of the Serra del Cadí, and by Bagà, on the south and west by Saldes and Vallcebre, and on the east by Bagà and Guardiola de Berguedà. Fígols is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of the Berguedà in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated to the north of Cercs, in the mountains above the Llobregat valley. Deposits of lignite are extracted commercially. Nearby is the Cercs Mine Museum. Cercs is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of Berguedà in Catalonia. It is situated on the right bank of the Llobregat river above the Baells reservoir. It is the site of an important power station which burns the lignite extracted at Fígols and Saldes. The town is served by the C-1411 road between Berga and the Cadí tunnel. Guardiola de Berguedà is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of the Berguedà in Catalonia. It is situated at the confluence of the Bastareny and Llobregat rivers in the north of the ''comarca''. Convergence and Union ( ca, Convergència i Unió, CiU; ) was a Catalan nationalist electoral alliance in Catalonia, Spain. It was a federation of two constituent parties, the larger Democratic Convergence of Catalonia (CDC) and its smaller counterpart, the Democratic Union of Catalonia (UDC). It was dissolved on 17 June 2015. CiU was a Catalan nationalist coalition.
