Gisclareny
Gisclareny is a municipality in the comarca of Berguedà, Catalonia, located in Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park. 2018 it again became the smallest village in Catalonia after the village of Sant Jaume de Frontanyà grew by 3 families. The altitude of the inhabited space varies between 800 meters in the neighborhood of Bagà and 1430 in the neighborhood of Coll de la Bena. It is bounded on the north by the Cerdanya, reaching the peaks of the Serra del Cadí, and by Bagà, on the south and west by Saldes and Vallcebre, and on the east by Bagà and Guardiola de Berguedà. The alpine forests and meadows are the usual landscape of the municipality as well as a multitude of farmhouses scattered throughout the territory. Berguedà
Berguedà () is an inland comarca (county) in Catalonia, Spain, lying partly in the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees, and partly in the Catalan Central Depression. Geography The northern half of Berguedà, known as Alt Berguedà (“Upper Berguedà”), consists of the upper Llobregat Valley and the mountainous areas surrounding it. Its northern border is a veritable mountain barrier: Berguedà is separated from Cerdanya by a chain of 2,000-meter peaks. These include the mountain ranges of Cadí, Moixeró, Puig d' Alp and Puigllançada. In this area the population is centered mainly in the Llobregat Valley and the valleys of the rivers Bagà, Bastareny and Saldes. Sant Jaume De Frontanyà
Sant Jaume de Frontanyà () is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of the Berguedà in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the Pyrenees below the peak of Pedró de Tubau (1543 m). The village was the smallest municipality in Catalonia in terms of population but in 2018 lost the title to Gisclareny after the village grew. The monumental Romanesque church of Sant Jaume is a protected historic-artistic monument from the 11th century. The village is served by a local road to Borredà and it is well known for its peace and tranquility. History The town was first documented in 905, at the consecration of the Church of Sant Jaume Vell. The guesthouse and restaurant Fonda Cal Marxandó has been welcoming visitors since 1851. Today, it is known for its traditional Catalan cuisine, made with locally sourced ingredients. Guardiola de Berguedà is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of the Berguedà in Catalonia. It is situated at the confluence of the Bastareny and Llobregat rivers in the north of the ''comarca''. It is an important local commercial centre, and for this reason has been less affected by depopulation than other municipalities in the Berguedà. Vallcebre
Vallcebre is a municipality in the comarca of Berguedà, Catalonia. It comprises two towns: ''Vallcebre'' proper, and the village of ''Sant Julià de Fréixens''. History The town was first documented in the year 893, when it was mentioned as ''Balcebre'' in a document describing the consecration of the Cathedral of la Seu d'Urgell. By 983, a castle existed in the town, of which there is no trace today. The municipality in former times was controlled in part by the Abbot of Bagà and the barons of Peguera. By the 15th century, it had become part of the possessions of the Foix family. Bagà
Bagà is a Spanish municipality located in the comarca of Berguedà, in Catalonia. Traditionally, Bagà is considered the capital of ''Alt Berguedà'', the mountainous northern half of the comarca.
