Vladimir Kuznetsov (born April 21, 1984) is a Kazakhstani weightlifter. At the 2006 World Championships he ranked 14th in the 77 kg category, with a total of 330 kg. At the 2007 World Championships he ranked 9th in the 77 kg category, with a total of 345 kg. Olympic weightlifting, or Olympic-style weightlifting (officially named Weightlifting), is a sport in which athletes compete in lifting a barbell loaded with weight plates from the ground to overhead, with each athlete trying to successfully lift the heaviest weights. Athletes compete in two specific ways of lifting the barbell overhead: these are the snatch and the clean and jerk. Weightlifting At The 2008 Summer Olympics – Men's 77 Kg
The men's 77 kilograms weightlifting event was the fourth lightest men's event at the weightlifting competition, limiting competitors to a maximum of 77 kilograms of body mass. The whole competition took place on August 13, but was divided in two parts due to the number of competitors. Group B weightlifters competed at 10:00, and Group A at 19:00. This event was the ninth weightlifting event to conclude. Each lifter performed in both the snatch and clean and jerk lifts, with the final score being the sum of the lifter's best result in each. The athlete received three attempts in each of the two lifts; the score for the lift was the heaviest weight successfully lifted.
