Vladan Đokić
Vladan Đokić (; born 20 September 1963) is a Serbian university professor and architect, who has served as rector of the University of Belgrade since 2021. Early life and education Đokić was born on 20 September 1963 in Belgrade, SR Serbia, SFR Yugoslavia. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Belgrade in 1988. As a student, he completed an internship at the architectural firm ''MM Architectes'' in Montreal. He obtained a master's degree in 1991 from the University of Southern California, School of Architecture and a PhD in 1998 from his alma mater, the University of Belgrade. The University of Belgrade () is a public university, public research university in Belgrade, Serbia. It is the oldest and largest modern university in Serbia. The Commissioner for Enlargement is the member of the European Commission in charge of overseeing the Enlargement of the European Union, accession process of prospective new member states and European Neighbourhood Policy, relations with those bordering the European Union (EU). Marta Kos
Marta Kos (; born 28 June 1965) is a Slovenian diplomat and politician. She served as ambassador to Germany from 2013 to 2017, and as ambassador to Switzerland from 2017 to 2020. Since December 2024, she is the European Commissioner for Enlargement in the second von der Leyen's Commission. From April to September 2022, she was one of the vice presidents of the Freedom Movement. Ahead of the 2022 presidential election, she was the candidate of the Freedom Movement for president of Slovenia until her withdrawal in August. The current Constitution of the Republic of Serbia (), also known as Mitrovdan Constitution () is the supreme and basic law of Serbia. It was adopted in 2006, replacing the previous constitution dating from 1990. Ana Brnabić ( sr-cyr, Ана Брнабић, ; born 28 September 1975) is a Serbian politician serving as president of the National Assembly of Serbia since 2024. A member of the Serbian Progressive Party, she previously served as prime minister of Serbia from 2017 to 2024. 2024–present Serbian Anti-corruption Protests
In November 2024, mass protests erupted in Novi Sad after the Novi Sad railway station canopy collapse, collapse of the city's railway station canopy, which killed 16 people and left one severely injured. By March 2025, the protests had spread to 400 cities and towns across Serbia and were ongoing. Led by university students, the protests call for accountability for the disaster. The protests began with student-led blockades of educational institutions, starting on 22 November at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts after students were attacked during a silent tribute to the victims of the 1 November collapse. Other faculties and high schools soon joined in. The European Council of Spatial Planners (ECTP-CEU) is the umbrella organisation for spatial planning institutes in Europe. It was founded in 1985 (when it was called the European Council of Town Planners, hence its initials in English). In June 2014 it had 32 members in 24 European countries. When they join, new member organisations sign an International Agreement on the nature of spatial planning, the responsibilities of planners, common educational standards and a code of conduct.
