Virginia Beach Sportsplex
The Virginia Beach Sportsplex is a sports complex in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The name is most commonly attached to the main soccer-specific stadium within the complex, which opened in 1999. It has a permanent seating capacity of 6,000 on two decks of seating, though it can be expanded upwards to 17,000 for American football games. It was the first soccer-specific venue built from the ground up in the United States. The Sportsplex is located across the street from the Princess Anne Athletic Complex and near the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater. The main stadium was the home field of the Hampton Roads Piranhas, a women's team in the USL W-League (1995–2015), W-League, which became the ''de facto'' top women's league in the country after the demise of the Women's United Soccer Association. USL League Two (USL2), formerly the Premier Development League (PDL), is a semi-professional soccer league sponsored by United Soccer Leagues in the United States, forming part of the United States soccer league system. The league will feature 144 teams for the 2025 season, split into nineteen regional divisions across four conferences. USL League Two is headquartered in Tampa, Florida. The Seacoast United Phantoms are the current champions, having defeated Peoria City 3–2 in extra time to win the 2024 USL League Two Championship final on August 3, 2024. Rush Soccer is an international soccer organization that was founded in Denver, Colorado and is headquartered in New York. Rush Soccer partners with over 80 youth and professional clubs across the world. History Rush Soccer was founded in April 1997 in Denver, Colorado. The Colorado Rush, the first domestic Rush club, has won over 12 National Championships, and 1 World Youth Tournament since the inaugural season began in 1997. Flatirons FC is a pre-professional soccer club based in Superior, Colorado, with a men's side that competes in the Mountain Division of USL League Two and a women's side that also competes in the Mountain Division, but in the USL W League.
