Vincenc Beneš
Vincenc Beneš (22 January 1883 – 27 March 1979) was a Czech painter. Early life and education Beneš was born in Lišice, Hradec Králové. He studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague from 1902 to 1904 and the Academy of Fine Arts, Prague from 1904 to 1907. Career From 1909 to 1911, and again from 1917 to 1949 he was a member of the Mánes Union of Fine Arts. His style was initially influenced by cubism and fauvism, and he later formed realistic oil paintings, showing the effect of Neo-Classicism. He contributed to the ''Art Monthly'' periodical. Among his most important works include a series of landscapes for the National Theatre and some battlefields in France. In 1963 he was named a National Artist. Vincenc Lesný (3 April 1882, Komárovice – 9 April 1953, Prague) was a Czech professor and research scholar of Indology and Iranian Studies. Early life The second son of Baltazar Lesný and Victorie (née Sujerlova), Vincenc was born at Komárovice, then in Austria-Hungary, now in the Czech Republic, on 3 April 1882. After graduation, he joined a naval academy at Pula between 1901 and 1903. He studied classical philology, Sanskrit and old Indian culture at Charles University between 1903 and 1907. Vincenc Makovský
Vincenc Makovský (3 June 1900 – 28 December 1966) was a Czechs, Czech sculptor, industrial designer and university teacher. Biography Vincenc Makovský was born on 3 June 1900 in Nové Město na Moravě. After he graduated from the high school in his hometown in 1918, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in 1919–1926. He was a pupil of Jan Štursa, who was also native of Nové Město na Moravě. In 1926–1930, he worked at Antoine Bourdelle's studio in France. From 1930, he lived in Brno. In 1944, he married. He had two sons. In 1929–1949, Makovský was a member of Mánes Union of Fine Arts. He founded the School of Arts in Zlín in 1939 and taught there until 1945. Vincenc Morstadt
Vincenc Morstadt (17 April 1802 – 19 February 1875) was a painter, illustrator and lawyer from the Austrian Empire. He was mainly a landscape painter, vedutist and author of many graphic prints and albums. Life Morstadt was born on 17 April 1802 in Kolín. He was born to a family of German origin. His grandfather came from Baden, got married in Kolín, and after serving as a military surgeon in the Theresian army, he settled there. Vincenc's father was a baker and wine merchant in Kolín. At the age of eleven, Vincenc came to Prague to study at the Piarist gymnasium in New Town. He continued his studies at the Faculty of Law of Charles University. After his graduation in 1834–1850 he worked at the regional court in Loket. Vincenc Prasek (9 April 1843 in Milostovice – 31 December 1912 in Napajedla) was a Czech educator, linguist and historian active in the region of Silesia. He contributed to several Czech periodicals based in Opava and in 1883–1895 served as the first principal of Czech grammar school ( gymnasium) there. Marko Vincenc Lipold Germanized as Markus Vinzenz Lipold (19 January 1816 – 22 April 1883) was a Slovenian geologist, mountaineer, and mining engineer. Lipold was born in Mozirje, son of a merchant. He studied at Celje and he paid for his own education from an early age by working as a tutor for the sons of the district commissioner. In 1833 he completed high school and went to Graz studying what was termed as philosophy. In 1835 he studied law, first at the University of Graz, and then at Vienna where he graduated in law in 1839.
