The Viitorul Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Scornicești, Olt County, Romania. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FC Olt Scornicești. It is the 24th stadium in the country by capacity. The stadium holds 13,500 people, the capacity being restricted from 18,000 due to advanced level of degradation. History The stadium was opened in 1975, with a capacity of 30,000 seats. Scornicești () is a town in Olt County, Romania, with a population of 10,795. The town administers 13 villages (Bălțați, Bircii, Chițeasca, Constantinești, Jitaru, Mărgineni-Slobozia, Mihăilești-Popești, Mogoșești, Negreni, Piscani, Rusciori, Șuica, and Teiuș) and has a total area of , being the locality with the largest area in the county of Olt, surpassing even its capital, Slatina, Romania, Slatina. Fotbal Club Olt Scornicești (), commonly known as FC Olt Scornicești, Olt Scornicești or simply as FC Olt, is a Romanian football club based in Scornicești, Olt County, currently playing in Liga IV – Olt County. Founded in 1972 under the name Viitorul Scornicești, the team quickly became one of the best teams from a rural area, achieving successive promotions through all divisions with political support. Their best finish was 4th place in Divizia A during the 1981–82 season. The club represented the home village of former dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu and arguably receiving "extra help" to reach the top division and avoid relegation.
