Vester Allé 12
Vester Allé 12 is a listed building in Aarhus, Denmark. The building was completed in 1902 and was listed by the Danish Heritage Agency in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places on 5 April 1988. The building is situated on the west side of ''Vester Allé'' close by Vester Allé Barracks and ARoS Aarhus Art Museum. The building has been home to some of the earliest cultural institutions in the city. Colloquially the building is known as ''Smykkeskrinet'' (The Jewel Box) for its distinctive shape or as ''Erhvervsarkivet'' (The Business Archive) for its long tenure as the home of the Danish National Business Archives. Aarhus Theatre
The Aarhus Theatre (Danish: ''Aarhus Teater'') in Aarhus, is the largest provincial theatre in Denmark. The present theatre house was constructed in the late 19th century, as a replacement for the old theatre, nicknamed "''Svedekassen''" (The Sweat-box). Since Aarhus had grown to become Jutland's biggest city during the 19th century, the old theatre had become too small to serve the public demand. A new building was designed by the Danish architect Hack Kampmann (1856–1920), and the construction began on 12 August 1898. Only two years later, Aarhus Theatre stood completed and was inaugurated on 15 September 1900. The architectural style of the building is Art Nouveau, with the national romantic emphasis on natural materials, and the interior design was completed by artists Hansen Reistrup and Hans Tegner. Karl Hansen Reistrup
Frederik Karl Kristian Hansen Reistrup (22 April 1863 – 18 March 1929) was a Danish sculptor, illustrator and ceramist. Reistrup is remembered for his important contribution to ceramics in particular for the ceramics he produced for Herman A. Kähler's pottery factory in Næstved. Biography Born at Valby, he studied ceramics while attending the Copenhagen Technical College in preparation for training under Carl Ferdinand Andersen at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (1881–82). He also attended the Académie Julian in Paris under Henri Chapu from 1885. After apprenticeships at the Kongelige Porcelainsfabrik and at the Manufacture nationale de Sèvres, he joined Herman A. Kähler at his ceramics factory in Næstved in 1888 where he became artistic director. He produced many successful designs, especially for vases and jugs, often finished in the ruby lustre glaze known as Kähler red. In Christianity and Judaism, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (, ; ) is one of two specific trees in the story of the Garden of Eden in Genesis 2–3, along with the tree of life. Alternatively, some scholars have argued that the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is just another name for the tree of life. In Genesis Narrative Genesis 2 narrates that God places the man, Adam, in a garden with trees whose fruits he may eat, but forbids him to eat from "the tree of the knowledge of good and evil". God forms a woman, Eve, after this command is given. In Genesis 3, a serpent persuades Eve to eat from its forbidden fruit and she also lets Adam taste it. Consequently, God expels them from the garden.
