Vernes (sometimes called ''Agdenes'') is a village in Orkland Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. Location The village is located on the end of the Vernes peninsula which sits at junction of the Verrafjorden and the Trondheimsleia. The village is the site of the Agdenes Church and the Vernes Quay, ferry quay which has regular connections to the islands of Leksa, Storfosna, and Garten to the north. Vassbygda is a village in Orkland Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located near the mouth of the Trondheimsfjorden across from the town of Brekstad in Ørland Municipality. Garten is a populated island in Ørland Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The island is located on the north side of the mouth of the Trondheimsfjorden, just southwest of the mainland. The island lies about southeast of the island of Storfosna. The main population center on the island is also referred to as the village of Garten. Storfosna
Storfosna is a populated island in Ørland Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The island is located between the islands of Kråkvåg and Garten north of the mouth of the Trondheimsfjorden. The traditional district of Fosen is named after this island. There is a large deer population on the island. The island is connected to the island of Kråkvåg by a causeway and bridge, and is connected to Garten (and the mainland) by a car ferry. The Storfosna Church is located on the island. The local and county governments are planning to build an undersea tunnel connecting Storfosna to the island of Garten (which is connected to the mainland by road). Leksa
Leksa refers to two islands in the Trondheimsleia strait in Orkland Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. Leksa is made up of the smaller north island, Nordleksa, and the larger south island, Sørleksa. The two islands have been connected by a small causeway since 1986. There are about 30 inhabitants between the two islands with about four farms still in use. Leksa has a store and a post office, and is used as a recreational resort. There is a car ferry from Vernes on the mainland to Nordleksa and ten another one to Garten from Nordleksa. The Sørleksa port is for express catamaran boat between the cities of Trondheim and Kristiansund. On Sørleksa there is a small fishing harbour with a breakwater whose construction work was finished in 1978. During World War II, there were about 300 German soldiers stationed at Leksa, and there were also 60-70 Polish and Russian prisoners of war who were imprisoned here for about 2 years. Agdenes Church
Agdenes Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Orkland Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the village of Vernes along the Trondheimsleia in the north part of the municipality, about southwest of Vassbygda. It is the main church for the Agdenes parish which is part of the Orkdal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1857 using plans drawn up by the architect Christian Heinrich Grosch. The church seats about 200 people. The Trondheimsleia is a strait in Møre og Romsdal and Trøndelag counties in Norway. The long strait runs between the islands of Smøla and Hitra and the mainland municipalities of Aure, Heim, and Orkland.
