Vasile Simionaș
Vasile Simionaș (16 November 1950 – 19 March 2025) was a Romanian professional football manager and football player who played as a midfielder. Club career Simionaș was born on 16 November 1950 in Iași, Romania. At the age of two, his family moved to Bârlad, then in 1956 they settled in Roman where he spent most of his childhood. He started playing junior level football at the age of 14 at Laminorul Roman. In 1966 he went at neighboring club, Victoria where he continued to play at junior level but also at senior level in Divizia C and Divizia B. After scoring a goal from the center of the field in a game, an official from Dinamo Bacău brought him to the team. At Bacău he learned a lot about football from the club's youth coach, Costică Rădulescu. In April 1968, at the age of 17, Simionaș made his Divizia A debut for Bacău when he was sent on the field by coach Nicolae Dumitru for the last 20 minutes in a match against Progresul București. Asociația Fotbal Club Astra Giurgiu (), commonly known as Astra Giurgiu or simply Astra, was a Romanian football club last based in the city of Giurgiu, Giurgiu County. Fotbal Club FCSB (), formerly named and still sometimes referred to as FC Steaua București, is a Romanian professional football club based in Bucharest. It has spent its entire history in the Liga I, the top flight of the Romanian football league system. The original ''Steaua București'' football team was founded in 1947 and belonged to the Ministry of National Defence, through the namesake CSA Steaua București sports club. In 1998, the football department and its facilities were separated from the latter and taken over by a group of shareholders in a post-Ceaușescu privatisation scheme, leading to one of the shareholders acquiring full ownership five years later. Nicolae Dumitru (footballer)
Nicolae "Nicușor" Dumitru (12 December 1928 – 8 August 2005) was a Romanian striker and manager. He is the most successful Manager in Romania, winning the Romanian first league on seven occasions, all with Dinamo București. Nicolae Dumitru also won two Romanian Cups, and went on to guide Dinamo to the European Cup semi-finals in the 1983–84 season. He has a total of 558 matches as manager in Divizia A. Liga I (; ''First League''), also spelled as Liga 1 and officially known as SuperLiga for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Romania and the highest level of the Romanian football league system. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation from and to Liga II. The teams play 30 matches each in the regular season, before entering the championship play-offs or the relegation play-outs according to their position in the regular table. Constantin Rădulescu (footballer, Born 1934)
Constantin "Costică" Rădulescu (17 April 1934 – 8 July 2002) was a Romanian footballer and manager. Playing career Rădulescu was born on 17 April 1934 in Comarnic and started his playing career in 1948 at local club, Vulturii. In 1949 he moved to Dinamo Brașov where he stayed until 1958, in the last year the team was playing in Cluj. He then signed with Dinamo Bacău, a team for which he would play the rest of his career which ended in 1966 when he scored a hat-trick against Chimia Râmnicu Vâlcea, a game he did not finish on the field as he suffered a commotion. Even though he was a fan of Rapid București, he never got to play for them. Managerial career Rădulescu started his coaching career at Dinamo Bacău in 1966 at the request of his former coach, Constantin Teașcă who left the team, managing to promote it from Divizia B to Divizia A in his first year. The Liga 2, most commonly spelled as Liga II, is the second level of the Romanian football league system. The league changed its name from Divizia B just before the start of the 2006–07 Liga II, 2006–07 football season. It is currently Sponsor (commercial), sponsored by Casa Pariurilor, a betting company under the official name Liga 2 Casa Pariurilor. Format Since its inception in 1934, Liga II has had between 2 and 9 parallel divisions, with clubs divided based on geographic regions. Bârlad
Bârlad () is a city in Vaslui County, Romania. It lies on the banks of the river Bârlad (river), Bârlad, which waters the high plains of Western Moldavia.
