ValdÃs Þóra Jónsdóttir
ValdÃs Þóra Jónsdóttir (born 4 December 1989) is an Icelandic professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour between 2017 and 2020. She won the mixed team gold at the 2018 European Golf Team Championships. Early life and amateur career Jónsdóttir was born in Akranes and participated in her first golf tournament when she was 8 years old. At 13, she started training seriously, and she was named Athlete of the Year in her hometown Akranes 4 years in a row 2007–2010. She won the Icelandic National Championship in 2009, 2012 and 2017. She played for the National Team, including at the European Ladies' Team Championship and the 2012 Espirito Santo Trophy. In 2010 she was named Icelandic Golfer of Year. Akranes
Akranes () is a port town and municipality on the west coast of Iceland, around north of the capital ReykjavÃk. The area where Akranes is located was settled in the 9th century; however, it did not receive a municipal charter until 1942. Women's British Open
The Women's Open (originally known as the Women's British Open, and still widely referred to by that name outside the UK) is a major championship in women's professional golf. It is recognised by both the LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour as a major. The reigning champion is Lydia Ko, who won at the 2024 tournament. The Evian Championship, currently known for sponsorship reasons as The Amundi Evian Championship, is a women's professional golf tournament in France, played at the Evian Resort Golf Club in Évian-les-Bains. It was originally held in June, moved to July in 2003, and moved again to September in 2013. It returned to a July date in 2019. Founded in 1994 on the Ladies European Tour (LET) as the Evian Masters, it is one of two major championships on the LET. Not originally a major on the LPGA Tour, it became an LPGA co-sanctioned event in 2000, which included a significant increase in purse size. The Chevron Championship is a professional women's golf tournament. An event on the LPGA Tour, it is one of the tour's five major championships, and has traditionally been the first of the season since its elevation to major status in 1983. Since 2023, it has been played on the Jack Nicklaus Signature Course at The Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands, Texas. Alice Hewson (born 19 August 1997) is an English professional golfer and Ladies European Tour player. She won the 2020 Investec South African Women's Open and 2024 VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open. In 2019, she won the European Ladies Amateur. Amateur career Hewson hails from Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. Axel Bóasson (born 3 June 1990) is an Icelandic professional golfer. In 2017, he became Iceland's first winner on the Nordic Golf League and won the Nordic Golf League Order of Merit. Glen Eagles (Scottish Gaelic: Gleann na h-Eaglais/Gleann Eagas) is a glen that connects with Glen Devon to form a pass through the Ochil Hills of Perth and Kinross in Scotland.
