Ultraísta (album)
''Ultraísta'' is the eponymous debut studio album by British experimental rock band Ultraísta. It was released 2 October 2012 by Temporary Residence Limited. The first single, "Smalltalk", was released 9 May 2012. Following the release of the album, touring from the band was cut short after drummer Joey Waronker had his first child. This same touring issue would occur when the promotion for the band's sophomore album would be affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. On 22 November 2019, a deluxe version of the album was released. It includes all the remixes of songs from the album that had been released in 2013, featuring remixes from Zero 7, David Lynch, CHVRCHES, Four Tet, among others. Critical reception ''Ultraísta'' was met with generally favourable reviews from critics. Laura Bettinson
Laura Bettinson (born 20 September 1987), also known by her stage names Femme and Lau.ra, is an English singer, songwriter, producer and DJ. She started writing music at 16, gigging around the Midlands area before moving to London to study Bmus Popular Music at Goldsmiths, University of London. History Bettinson grew up in Dunchurch just outside Rugby, Warwickshire, where she attended Rugby High School for Girls. Her father is the West End theatre director and writer Rob Bettinson and her brother is shipping magnate Scott Bettinson. Kieran Miles David Hebden (born September 1977), known as Four Tet, is an English electronic musician. He came to prominence as a member of the post-rock band Fridge before establishing himself as a solo artist with charting and critically acclaimed albums such as '' Rounds'' (2003), '' Everything Ecstatic'' (2005) and '' There Is Love in You'' (2010). Chvrches (stylised CHVRCHΞS and pronounced "Churches") are a Scottish synth-pop band from Glasgow, formed in September 2011. Zero 7 is an English musical duo consisting of Henry Binns and Sam Hardaker. Both of them began as studio engineers and in 1997 formed the group Zero 7. Their debut album, '' Simple Things'', was released in 2001; their song "Destiny" stayed in the top 100 of the UK Single Charts. Joey Waronker
Jon Joseph Waronker (born May 20, 1969) is an American drummer and music producer. He has performed with acts including Beck, R.E.M., Oasis and Roger Waters, and is a member of the experimental rock bands Atoms for Peace and Ultraísta. Background Waronker was born in Los Angeles, the son of producer and former Warner Bros. Records President Lenny Waronker, and actress and musician Donna Loren. He has two sisters (one being musician Anna Waronker) and two half-sisters. His grandfather was classical violinist Simon Waronker, namesake for the Simon character in the Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise. Joey was a student of Freddie Gruber.
