Træna is a List of municipalities of Norway, municipality in Nordland Counties of Norway, county, Norway. It is part of the Helgeland Districts of Norway, traditional region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the island/village of Husøya. Other population centres include Selvær and Sanna, Nordland, Sanna. Fishing is the economic mainstay of the island municipality of Træna. Connections to mainland Norway are by means of boat and ferry. Routes are provided to Sandnessjøen, Nesna (village), Nesna, and Stokkvågen. Each year Træna plays hosts a music festival called Traena Music Festival. The islands of Træna have been the site of a number of archeological discoveries, indicating that the island has been populated since the Stone Age. Træna Church
Træna Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Træna Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Husøya on the island of Husøya. It is the main church for the Træna parish which is part of the Nord-Helgeland prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The white, wooden church was built in a cruciform style in 1773 using plans drawn up by the architect Jørgen Coldevin. The church seats about 200 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to the year 1589, but the church was not new that year. The first church in Træna was not located on the present church site. It was either located in the centre of the island by the present-day cemetery, about west of the present site, or it was located at an alternate site about to the southwest of the present site of the church. Træna Lighthouse () is a coastal lighthouse in Træna Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located on the island of Sørholmen in the Trænfjorden, about southwest of the main island of Husøya and about west of the island village of Lovund in Lurøy Municipality. The lighthouse was built in 1877 and automated in 1974. It has a granite foundation with an tall red cast iron tower. The light sits at an elevation of above sea level. The 88,000-candela light can be seen for about . The light emits one white flash every 15 seconds.
