Toowoomba–Karara Road is a continuous road route in the Toowoomba and Southern Downs regions of Queensland, Australia. Most of the route is signed as State Route 48. Toowoomba–Karara Road (number 331) is a state-controlled district road. As part of State Route 48 it provides an alternate route between and . It is also part of the shortest route from Toowoomba to . Route Description The Toowoomba–Karara Road commences as Old Wyreema Road at an intersection with the Toowoomba Athol Road in , a suburb of Toowoomba. It runs south-west, becoming Toowoomba-Karara Road as it runs between and . It passes through as Wyreema One Mile Road and Balgour Street before again becoming Toowoomba-Karara Road. Toowoomba Athol Road
The Gore Highway is a highway running between Toowoomba and Goondiwindi in Queensland, Australia. Together with Goulburn Valley Highway and Newell Highway, it is a part of the National Highway (Australia), National Highway's Melbourne to Brisbane link. It is signed as National Highway A39. History The highway is named after two brothers, St. George Richard Gore and Ralph Thomas Gore who established the Yandilla pastoral run in the area (between Pittsworth, Queensland, Pittsworth and Millmerran, Queensland, Milmerran), through which the road traverses. It was elevated to National Highway status in February 1993, and replaced the Cunningham Highway as the main route between Goondiwindi and Brisbane. Drayton, Queensland
Drayton is a rural locality in the Toowoomba Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Drayton had a population of 1,813 people. Drayton is at the outer southwestern edge of Toowoomba. It was first substantial settlement on the Darling Downs, initially being established in 1842. The nearby township of Toowoomba expanded more rapidly than Drayton, and in the 1860s the centre of population shifted to Toowoomba, leaving Drayton as a southwestern suburb. Geography The South Western railway line forms the south-western boundary of the locality, which is served by Drayton railway station ().
