''Titãs - A Vida Até Parece Uma Festa'' (lit. ''Titãs - Life Even Looks Like a Party'') is a 2008 documentary featuring the career of the Brazilian rock band Titãs since its beginning. Features the tapes recorded by Branco Mello when he earned his VHS camera in the early 1980s. Was awarded the 2009 VMB Award for Musical Movie/Documentary of the Year. Background Branco Mello used his camera to record several moments in shows, studios, hotel rooms, airports and any other kind of backstage actions. He and his band mates recorded the images and sound in formats such as VHS, Hi-8, Super 8 e mini DV. Branco Mello
Branco Mello (; born Claudio Corrêa de Mello Júnior on March 16, 1962) is a Brazilian musician and actor, best known as the vocalist and bassist of Brazilian rock band Titãs. He has also played small but significant roles for the movies. Childhood Music entered Mello's life through the cinema. Every week, his father would take him to watch musicals at Metro. The movies' soundtracks joined other influences, like Bossa Nova, or the shows promoted by his mother, Lu Brandão, a cultural producer. Epitáfio
"Epitáfio" is the fifteenth single by Titãs, released in 2002. It was included in the soundtrack of telenovela ''Desejos de Mulher''. As a B-side, the single featured an acoustic version of the song. Unlike the whole band, producer Jack Endino believed it could be a hit and was eventually proven right. The music video, featuring archive footage of the Titãs in their daily lives, won three awards at the MTV Brasil, MTV MTV Video Music Brasil, Video Music Brasil, including Viewer's Choice and Video of the Year. In December 2014, by request of TV program Fantástico, the band recorded a new version of the track with verses suggested by the program's spectators. Each suggestion described something the person felt they should have done less in 2014 or that they intend to do more in 2015, keeping the original logic of the single. Super 8 Film
Super 8 mm film is a motion-picture film format released in 1965 by Eastman Kodak as an improvement over the older "Double" or "Regular" 8 mm home movie format. The film is nominally 8 mm wide, the same as older formatted 8 mm film, but the dimensions of the rectangular perforations along one edge are smaller, which allows for a greater exposed area. The Super 8 standard also allocates the border opposite the perforations for an oxide stripe upon which sound can be magnetically recorded. The 8mm video format refers informally to three related videocassette formats. These are the original Video8 ( analog recording) format and its improved successor Hi8 (analog video and analog audio but with provision for digital audio), as well as a more recent digital recording format known as Digital8. The MTV Video Music Brazil awards (originally Video Music Awards Brazil), more commonly known as VMB, were MTV Brasil's annual award ceremony, established in 1995. MTV viewers picked the winners for most categories since 2001. Titãs
Titãs () are a Brazilian rock band from São Paulo. Though they basically play pop/alternative rock, their music has touched a number of other styles throughout their 30-year career, such as new wave, punk rock, grunge, MPB and electronic music. They are one of the most successful rock bands in Brazil, having sold more than 6.3 million albums as of 2005 and having been covered by several well-known Brazilian artists and a couple of international singers.
