''This Is England '90'' is a 2015 British television miniseries written by Shane Meadows and Jack Thorne and produced by Warp Films. It is the fourth instalment of the ''This Is England'' series, serving as a follow-up to '' This Is England '86'' and ''This Is England '88''. It again stars Vicky McClure, Joseph Gilgun, Thomas Turgoose, and Stephen Graham. ''This is England '90'' was originally scheduled to release in 2012, but production was put on hold in order for Meadows to complete his documentary about reunited Manchester rock band The Stone Roses. Meadows returned to writing the script shortly thereafter, later stating that it was likely to be the final installment of the ''This is England'' series. Madchester was a musical and cultural scene that emerged in the English city of Manchester during the late 1980s, closely associated with the indie dance movement. Indie dance (also referred to as indie rave) blended indie rock with elements of acid house, psychedelia, and 1960s pop. The term ''Madchester'' was coined by Factory Records' Tony Wilson, and was popularised by the British music press in the early 1990s. Park Hill, Sheffield
Park Hill is a housing estate in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. It was built between 1957 and 1961, and in 1998 was given Grade II* listed building status. Following a period of decline, the estate is being renovated by developers Urban Splash into a mostly private mixed-tenure estate made up of homes for market rent, private sale, shared ownership, and student housing while around a quarter of the units in the development will be social housing. The La's
The La's were an English rock band from Liverpool, originally active from 1983 until 1992. Fronted by singer, songwriter and guitarist Lee Mavers, the group are best known for their hit single " There She Goes". "There She Goes" is a song by English rock band the La's, written by the band's frontman, Lee Mavers. First released in 1988, the song, the second single from the band's self-titled album, reached number 13 on the UK Singles Chart when it was re-issued in 1990. The song predated Britpop by four years.
