Swedish Army Signal Troops ( sv, Signaltrupperna, S) is the signal branch of the Swedish Army. History The Swedish Army Signal Troops were organized in accordance with the Defence Act of 1936 as a special branch of the field telegraph troops which belonged to the ''Fortifikationen''. The signal troops consisted of the Signal Regiment (S 1) with the main part in Stockholm Garrison and a company in each of Kristianstad Garrison (S 1 K), Skövde Garrison (S 1 Sk) and Boden Garrison (S 1 B). From the signal troops, a large number of officers were also commanded for service in senior staffs. Boden Garrison
Boden Garrison ( sv, Bodens garnison) is a major garrison in Sweden, located in and around Boden, Sweden, Boden in Norrbotten County. The garrison has during the 20th century been, and still is, the largest garrison in Sweden, consisting of several units of the Swedish Armed Forces as well as Boden Fortress. History Before the decision to construct Boden Fortress, there was no permanently stationed military unit in Boden. The main military presence were the four Swedish allotment system, tenement soldiers of Bodens kompani (Boden Company)—part of Norrbotten Regiment (I 19)—that lived in the locality. Swedish Engineer Troops
The Swedish Engineer Troops ( sv, Ingenjörtrupperna, I) is the engineer branch of the Swedish Army. The Troops were formed after the Defence Act of 1936. Today, it consists of a single unit, the Göta Engineer Regiment (Ing 2) and two schools, the Swedish Army Field Work School (''Fältarbetsskolan'', FarbS) and the EOD School (''Amröjskolan'', AmröjS) History In the 1600s and 1700s, special engineer (or pioneer units) were organized. ''Fortifikationen'' ("Royal Engineers") were established in 1635 as a special corps for construction of fortifications. The task of ''Fortifikationen'' was to build and maintain the country's land and coastal fortifications and other military buildings. Swedish Armoured Troops
The Swedish Armoured Troops ( sv, Pansartrupperna, P) is the armoured branch of the Swedish Army. Since 2005, the Armoured Troops include the South Scanian Regiment (P 7) in Revingehed, Skaraborg Regiment (P 4) in Skövde, Norrbotten Armoured Battalion in Boden, and since 2018 also Gotland Regiment (P 18). History 1920s–1960s In Sweden, after World War I, a smaller number of tanks were procured. The training with these was located to Svea Life Guards (I 1). Lieutenant General Fale Faleson Burman (12 January 19036 September 1973) was a Swedish Army officer. Burman served as commander of Göta Life Guards (1951–1955), as Inspector of the Army Signal Troops (1955–1959) and as Commanding General of the VII Military District (1959–1963) and the III Military District (1963–1966). Enköping
Enköping is a locality and the seat of Enköping Municipality, Uppsala County, Sweden with 30,000 inhabitants in 2018. Geography Enköping is situated near Lake Mälaren, about 78 km west of Stockholm. Command And Control Regiment (Sweden)
The Command and Control Regiment ( sv, Ledningsregementet, LedR), is the Swedish Armed Forces command and control and army electronic warfare center that traces its origins back to the 19th century. The regiment is currently garrisoned in Enköping, Uppland. History The regiment has its origins in the field signal (later telegraphy) company raised in 1871. This unit then evolved and finally became Uppland Regiment in 1974. That regiment was disbanded in 2006 but was replaced by the Command and Control Regiment, which took part the role that the Uppland Regiment previously had.
