Fale Burman
Generallöjtnant, Lieutenant General Fale Faleson Burman (12 January 19036 September 1973) was a Swedish Army officer. Burman served as commander of Göta Life Guards (armoured), Göta Life Guards (1951–1955), as Swedish Army Signal Troops#Inspector of the Swedish Army Signal Troops, Inspector of the Army Signal Troops (1955–1959) and as Commanding General of the Gotland Military Command, VII Military District (1959–1963) and the Western Military District (Sweden), III Military District (1963–1966). Early life Burman was born on 12 January 1903 in Malmö garnisonsförsamling, Malmö, Sweden, the son of Fale Burman, a captain in the cavalry, and his wife Cornelia Siwers. He passed ''studentexamen'' at Nya Elementar in Stockholm in 1920. Artillery and Engineering College ( sv, Artilleri- och ingenjörhögskolan, AIHS) was a Swedish Army training establishment active between 1878 and 1992, providing courses for artillery officers. It was located within the Stockholm Garrison in Stockholm, Sweden. History The Higher Artillery School (''Högre artilleriläroverket'') at Marieberg was established in 1818. It was initially intended only for the training of artillery officers but after 1830 it was extended gradually to a staff college for the entire armed forces. Swedish Armoured Troops
The Swedish Armoured Troops ( sv, Pansartrupperna, P) is the armoured branch of the Swedish Army. Since 2005, the Armoured Troops include the South Scanian Regiment (P 7) in Revingehed, Skaraborg Regiment (P 4) in Skövde, Norrbotten Armoured Battalion in Boden, and since 2018 also Gotland Regiment (P 18). Södermanland Regiment (armoured)
The Södermanland Regiment ( sv, Södermanlands regemente), designated P 10 or P 3 and P 10/Fo 43, was an armored regiment of the Swedish Army with its roots in the 17th century, and was located in Strängnäs. The regiment was deactivated in 2004 and its assets were funneled into other parts of the military. Its life company was transferred to the Södermanland Group of the Home Guard, making the Södermanland Group the only Home Guard unit with such a company. History The regiment was converted from an infantry regiment to an armored regiment in 1942. Scanian Dragoon Regiment (armoured)
The Scanian Dragoon Regiment ( sv, Skånska dragonregementet), designated P 2 and P 2/Fo 14, was an armored regiment of the Swedish Army with its roots in the 17th century. The unit was first based in Helsingborg and later in Hässleholm. History The regiment was converted from an cavalry regiment to an armored regiment in 1942. The regiment was trained as pioneers in armoured warfare in Helsingborg between 1942 and 1947. At the start, they were crowded in the regiment built for five squadrons, which would now receive armored units with ten companies. The training area in Torekov was less useful and in 1943 the Ravlunda training area was purchased. After reconnaissance and political considerations, the training areas in Hässleholm were purchased in 1944. The construction period ended and on 30 September 1947, the regiment moved into Hässleholm. General Staff Corps ( sv, Generalstabskåren, Gst) was an administrative corps within the Swedish Armed Forces between 1937 and 1990 and consisted of Swedish Army officers chosen for duty in the Defence Staff and Army Staff. It replaced the earlier General Staff. History The General Staff Corps was established on 1 July 1937. Besides adjutants and staff adjutants, it consisted of: 1 colonel (also Chief of the Army Staff), 1 colonel, 5 lieutenant colonels, 12 majors and 34 captains. In order to gain entry into the General Staff Corps, first priority was to be top of the class at the then Royal Swedish Army Staff College and after that, 2.5 years of employment as a general staff officer candidate in positions at different departments within the staff. Army Staff ( sv, Arméstaben, Ast) is the staff of the Chief of the Swedish Army. It was originally established in 1937. The Army Staff's duties then included, among other things to assist the Chief of the Army with leadership of the Army's mobilization, training, tactics, organization, equipment and personnel to the extent that such activity was not directly related to operational activities, which was handled by the Defence Staff.
