Slagharen
Slagharen is a village in the municipality of Hardenberg in the province of Overijssel, Netherlands. The village started as a peat excavation village. It is known for the Attractiepark Slagharen, an amusement park. History In 1832, the Lutterhoofdwijk canal was dug as a side canal of the to excavate the peat in the area and the village was established along the canal, however, in 1830, a community of 81 people was recorded at the site. All except for a Frisian family were from neighbouring Germany, and were living in sod houses on the moorland. In 1844, the name Slagharen first appeared, and means "parcel f landon sandy ground". The predominantly German settlers resulted in the founding of a Catholic church in 1843. The church was replaced in 1967. In 1859, the gristmill was built near the village. Attractiepark Slagharen
Attractie- & Vakantiepark Slagharen is an Amusement park and holiday resort in Slagharen, located in the Dutch province Overijssel. The park opened in 1963 and was originally named ''Ponypark Slagharen''. The logo contains the English name ''Slagharen Themepark & Resort''. The Amusement park contains two areas, which are connected by a main street containing shops and restaurants. The park has more than 30 attractions, including 2 Roller coasters. The park contains 6 themed areas: Indian, Yellowstone, New Orleans, Mexican, Wild West and Jules Adventureland (named after the French writer Jules Verne). The entrance and Apollo, Enterprise and Free Fall rides are all found at the southern end of the park. Chantal Beltman
Chantal Beltman (born 25 August 1976 in Slagharen, Overijssel) is a former Dutch professional cyclist. She was part of the 2008 team. In 2007 this was called the T-Mobile Women cycling team. In 2006, Beltman raced for Vrienden van het Platteland team. She is the older sister of Ghita Beltman, who is a former cyclist. Gerard Nijkamp
Gerard Nijkamp (born 1970) is a Dutch soccer player and manager. He worked in various coaching and managerial roles for Dutch club PEC Zwolle from 1998 until 2019, when he started in his role as general manager of FC Cincinnati. He continued in that role until 6 August 2021. Managerial career PEC Zwolle Nijkamp was an assistant coach and academy director at PEC Zwolle from 1998 to 2007. He was appointed as the club's interim coach in September 2003 after Peter Boeve was fired. He coached for two matches before Hennie Spijkerman was hired as a permanent replacement. Hardenberg (; nds-nl, Haddenbarreg or '' 'n Arnbarg'') is a city and municipality in the province of Overijssel, Eastern Netherlands. The municipality of Hardenberg has a population of about 60,000, with about 19,000 living in the city. It received city rights in 1362 from Jan van Arkel, Bishop of Utrecht.
