SİPER
SİPER (''Trench'') is a high to medium air defense surface-to-air missile (SAM) system. Designed to defend against any type of airborne threat, it can fight aircraft, cruise missiles, air-to-ground missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). It was jointly developed in Turkey by the companies Roketsan, Aselsan and the research institute TÜBİTAK SAGE. The SİPER system project was launched by the Presidency of Defence Industries in 2018. The missile is developed by Roketsan, and most sensors and electronics by Aselsan. The ''SIPER'' missile was originally announced as ''Hisar-U''. However, it was later announced that the Siper missile would be a new missile family and 3 different blocks would be developed. Siper Block 1 were developed based on the Hisar-O missile with booster. Siper Block 1 ''Siper Block 1'' was originally planned as ''Hisar-U''. However, after it was concluded that ''Hisar-U'' could not meet Türkiye's long-range and high-altitude air defense missile ne ...

Hisar (missile Family)
Hisar (''Fortress'') is a family of short, High to medium air defense surface-to-air missile systems being developed by Roketsan and Aselsan since 2007. The missiles are developed by Roketsan, while most sensors and electronics are developed by Aselsan. The missile family consists of the short range Hisar-A and medium range Hisar-O air defence system. Missile seeker of Hisar-A and Hisar-O is infrared homing. The model using RF Seeker, Hisar O+ RF, and its naval version, Hisar-D RF, were announced later. The long range version “Hisar-U” evolved into the Siper long range air defence system project. Development history On 18 April 2007, the Turkish Presidency of Defense Industries issued a request for information to international and domestic defence companies to meet a low to medium altitude air defense requirements under Turkey's Low Altitude Air Defence Missile System (T-LALADMIS) programme (''Alçak İrtifa Hava Savunma Füze Sistemi'' in Turkish). A total of 18 compan ...

High To Medium Air Defense
High to medium air defense (HIMAD) is a group of anti-aircraft weapons and tactics to do with defense against high to medium altitude air threats, primarily aircraft and missiles. HIMAD and its complements, short range air defense (SHORAD) and Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD), divide air defense of the battlespace into domes of responsibility based on altitude and defensive weapon ranges. Surface-to-air Missile
A surface-to-air missile (SAM), also known as a ground-to-air missile (GTAM) or surface-to-air guided weapon (SAGW), is a missile designed to be launched from the ground or the sea to destroy aircraft or other missiles. It is one type of anti-aircraft warfare, anti-aircraft system; in modern armed forces, missiles have replaced most other forms of dedicated anti-aircraft weapons, with anti-aircraft guns pushed into specialized roles. The first attempt at SAM development took place during World War II, but no operational systems were introduced. Further development in the 1940s and 1950s led to operational systems being introduced by most major forces during the second half of the 1950s. Smaller systems, suitable for close-range work, evolved through the 1960s and 1970s, to modern systems that are man-portable. Shipborne systems followed the evolution of land-based models, starting with long-range weapons and steadily evolving toward smaller designs to provide a layered defence. T ...

It has the capability to detect and intercept Fighter aircraft, fighter jets, Stealth aircraft, stealth targets, unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAV) and cruise missiles. It operates in conjunction with Sayyad-3 missiles. The surface-to-air missile system was developed in order to counter missiles and other aerial threats presented by the presence of extra-regional forces at military bases in countries around Iran. It was unveiled amid escalating tensions with the United States and Europe's failing attempts at upholding its commitments to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, 2015 Iran nuclear deal. HQ-22
The HQ-22 (; NATO reporting name: CH-SA-20) is a medium- to long-range semi-active radar homing/ radio-command guidance air defence system developed and manufactured in China. History The HQ-22 was publicly revealed at the 2016 China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition. The HQ-22 entered service with the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) by 2019. Serbia purchased the FK-3, the export variant, in 2019; they were delivered by PLAAF Xi'an Y-20 transport aircraft and entered service in April 2022. They were the first Chinese medium- or long-range air defence system exported to Europe. In April 2021, India reported that China had deployed the HQ-22 near eastern Ladakh. Description The HQ-22 air defence system is a second generation development of the HQ-12 missile. It is intended as a low-cost replacement for the HQ-2. The missile is "wingless" compared to the preceding HQ-12. The missile uses semi-active radar guidance to reduce cost, and may switch to r ...

HQ-9
The HQ-9 ( zh, s=红旗-9, t=紅旗-9, p=Hóng Qí-9, l=Red Banner-9; NATO reporting name: CH-SA-9.) is a long-range semi-active radar homing (SARH) surface-to-air missile (SAM) developed by the People's Republic of China. The naval variant is the HHQ-9 ( zh, s=海红旗-9, t=海紅旗-9, p=Hǎi Hóng Qí-9, l=Sea Red Banner-9). Description The HQ-9 is a derivative of the Russian S-300. Justin Bronk of the Royal United Services Institute describes the missile as a "hybrid design based on the Russian SA-20 but with radar, seeker head and C2 elements heavily influenced by American and Israeli technology." The missile uses track-via-missile (TVM) guidance combining inertial guidance, mid-course uplink, and terminal active radar. The TVM used on earlier missiles may have been developed from a United States MIM-104 Patriot missile purchased from Israel or Germany. According to a 2001 article from ''Defence International'', the HQ-9 is 6.8 m. long with a mass of nearly two tons. ...

MIM-104 Patriot
The MIM-104 Patriot is a mobile interceptor missile surface-to-air missile (SAM) system, the primary such system used by the United States Army and several allied states. It is manufactured by the U.S. defense contractor Raytheon and derives its name from the radar component of the weapon system. The AN/MPQ-53 at the heart of the system is known as the "Phased Array Tracking Radar to Intercept on Target", which is a backronym for "Patriot". In 1984, the Patriot system began to replace the Nike Hercules system as the U.S. Army's primary high to medium air defense (HIMAD) system and the MIM-23 Hawk system as the U.S. Army's medium tactical air defense system. In addition to these roles, Patriot has been given a function in the U.S. Army's anti-ballistic missile (ABM) system. , the system is expected to stay fielded until at least 2040. Patriot uses an advanced aerial interceptor missile and high-performance radar systems. Patriot was developed at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, A ...
