Ségny
Ségny (), also written Segny, is a Communes of France, commune in the Ain Departments of France, department in eastern France. Ségny is situated in the east of the department, in a district of the Lake Geneva / River Rhône basin known as the Pays de Gex. It lies on the important Route nationale 5, RN 5 trunk road from Paris to Geneva and is just five minutes by road from Geneva Cointrin International Airport. A local bus service connects Ségny to Geneva city centre, which is some away. Ségny became a member of the Pays de Gex Communauté de communes, Community of Communes on 1 January 1996. The commune is bordered by Cessy to the north, Versonnex, Ain, Versonnex to the east, Prévessin-Moëns and Ornex to the south, and Échenevex and Chevry, Ain, Chevry to the west. Chevry, Ain
Chevry (; ) is a commune in the Ain department, in the region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, eastern France. INSEE Chevry's inhabitants are called Chevrysiens. Chevry is located between Gex and Saint-Genis-Pouilly, on the departmental highway RD984, which is the primary access to the town. It is twenty minutes from the Swiss border near Geneva. Ornex
Ornex (; ) is a commune in the Ain department in eastern France. Geography It is located on the former N5 highway between the Jura mountains and the Swiss border. Located nine kilometres from Geneva, many inhabitants commute across the Swiss border each morning to jobs with international organizations and multinational corporations. It is bordered in the south by Ferney-Voltaire, in the west by Prévessin-Moëns and Segny, in the north by Versonnex and in the east by the Swiss commune of Collex-Bossy. A section of the tunnel excavated by CERN between 1983 and 1988 passes under the town. Originally excavated for the LEP collider, the tunnel now houses the Large Hadron Collider that started operating in 2008. The major visible presence of the LHC tunnel in the area are some surface buildings and some large helium gas tanks further North in Cessy. Prévessin-Moëns () is a commune in the Department of Ain, in France. It is located in the western suburbs of Geneva. Geography The commune of Prévessin-Moëns is situated between the Jura mountains and the Alps, with a view of Mont Blanc. Originally founded as a combination of the communes of Prévessin and Moëns, the commune now also includes the hamlets of Magny, les Aglands, Brétigny, and Vésegnin. Founded as an agricultural commune, Prévessin-Moëns has transformed into a low-rise housing community populated mostly by "frontalier(e)s" who work across the Swiss border in the canton of Geneva.
