Haji Sudi
Suudi Shabeele Omar, more commonly known as Haji Sudi (; 1858–1920) was one of the leaders behind the Somali Dervish movement. He was also the movement's right-hand man and chief lieutenant till its demise in 1920. He is described as the Mullah's right hand in the earlier days of his rise. He hailed from the Adan Madoba sub-clan of the Habr Je'lo clan. Overview Haji Sudi was born approximately around 1857 in what's now Somaliland before the arrival of European powers to the Horn of Africa. Nothing is known about his early life, but as most of the Somalis of his time his early life and youth was spent in the interior as a nomad. The nickname " Sudi" in Somali means hot tempered. In Somali language the term means hot or scourging temperature an indication of his temperament. Sudi, is a panchayat town in the Gadag District of Karnataka, India. It is about 30 km from Badami, 12 km from Gajendragad and 3 km from Itagi Bhimambika temple. In the past it was an important town of the Western Chalukya Empire, Kalyani Chalukyas during 1000 AD. It is notable for rare stone carved monuments like ''Twin towered temple, Mallikarjuna temple and nagakunda (large well built of stone and carvings)'', and few other structural temples. For long time these structures were abandoned, but recently they caught the eye of the Indian Archaeological Department (ASI - Archaeological Survey of India). Ahmed Sudi
Ahmed Sudi, also known as Sudi-yi (or Ahmed-i) Bosnawi, was a 16th-century Bosnian commentator under the Ottoman Empire. He was the author of several Ottoman Turkish commentaries on Persian classics such as the ''Masnavi'' of Rumi, the ''Gulistan'' and ''Bostan'' of Saadi Shirazi, and ''The Divān of Hafez''. According to Professor of Persian and Islamic studies Hamid Algar, Sudi is "perhaps the most prominent of all Ottoman Persianists". Biography Sudi was born at an unknown date in Sudići near Foča in eastern Bosnia (present-day Bosnia and Herzegovina). His place of birth provided for his '' nisba'' Sudi. The names of his parents and details of his relatives in general are unknown. Abdullahi Sudi Arale (; born 1964) is a citizen of Somalia who was held for two and a half years in extrajudicial detention by the United States. Arale's transfer to the United States Guantanamo Bay detention camps, in Cuba, was confirmed on Wednesday, June 6, 2007. Arale's capture was said to have occurred "in recent weeks". Arale was alleged to have helped courier weapons and explosives between al Qaeda elements in Pakistan and the horn of Africa. Sudarshan (Sudi) Devanesen, CM, is a family medicine physician and educator, public health activist, and member of the Order of Canada. He is known for his role in preventing heart disease in Canadian South Asians. Devanesen was founding president (1994–1997) of a South Asian Community Council of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, and has both studied and educated on the risks of cardiovascular disease in the South Asian community in Canada. Muse Sudi Yalahow born Mogadishu (; Arabic: موسى سودي يالاهو) is a member of the Federal Parliament of Somalia and a warlord. During the early 2000's he was a member of the Somalia Reconciliation and Restoration Council (SRRC) warlord coalition. In 2004 Yalahow became the Trade Minister of the Transitional Federal Government (TFG) and in 2006 a member of the Central Intelligence Agency funded alliance of warlords known as Alliance for the Restoration of Peace and Counter-Terrorism (ARPCT). The ARPCT attempted to crush the rising Islamic Courts Union, but was defeated during the summer of 2006. He was fired from his position in the TFG following the collapse of the warlord alliance. Sudi Silalahi
Sudi Silalahi (13 July 1949 – 25 October 2021) was an Indonesian politician and Indonesian army Lieutenant General. He was the Secretary of State of the Republic of Indonesia from 22 October 2009 to 20 October 2014. He was also the secretary of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono when Yudhoyono was serving as Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs under the administration of Megawati Soekarnoputri. In 2012, he was part of the State visit of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to the United Kingdom. He was appointed an Honorary Knight Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George.
