Steinshamn is a village in Ålesund Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The village is located at the northern end of the island of Harøya. Sandøy Municipality
Sandøy is a former municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1867 until its dissolution in 2020. The area is now divided between Aukra Municipality and Ålesund Municipality on the border of the traditional districts of Romsdal and Sunnmøre. The administrative centre was the village of Steinshamn. Other villages included Ona and Myklebust. Prior to its dissolution in 2020, the municipality was the 416th largest by area out of the 422 municipalities in Norway. Sandøy Municipality was the 373rd most populous municipality in Norway with a population of about 1,238. The municipality's population density was and its population had decreased by 5.3% over the previous 10-year period. Harøya is a swampy island in Ålesund Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. At , it is the largest island in the municipality. The island is located between the islands of Finnøya (to the northeast) and Fjørtofta (to the southwest). Steinshamn, the municipal center, is located at the north end of the island where there is a causeway connecting it to the neighboring island of Finnøya. Myklebust is a village on the southern end of the island of Harøya in Ålesund Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The village lies about south of village of Steinshamn. Harøy Church
Harøy Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Ålesund Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the central part of the island of Harøya, just north of the Lomstjønna Nature Reserve. It is one of the two churches for the Sandøy parish which is part of the Nordre Sunnmøre prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Møre. The white, wooden church was built in a long church design in 1934 using plans drawn up by the architects Fredrik Ziegler Kavli and Paul S. Michelsen. The church seats about 340 people.
