Stavsnäs is a locality situated on the north east part of the island ''Fågelbrolandet'' in Värmdö Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden with 810 inhabitants in 2010. As there are numerous holiday homes in the area, the population is significantly larger during summer. Stavsnäs is located 44 kilometers from central Stockholm and accessible by road. Stavsnäs consists of three different parts; ''Stavsnäs By'' (the original picturesque wood-house village built up around the old harbour, dating back to medieval times), ''Stavsnäs Gärde'' (a modern housing area with detached houses and blocks of flats), and ''Stavsnäs Vinterhamn'' or ''Vinterhamn'' (the all-year ferry harbour connecting the nearby inhabited islands (such as Sandhamn) with the Stockholm bus transportation network). Värmdö Municipality
Värmdö Municipality () is a municipalities of Sweden, municipality in Stockholm County in east central Sweden. Its seat is in the town of Gustavsberg, Värmdö Municipality, Gustavsberg, with a population of 9,682 (2005), on the main island at an elevation of . The municipality is named after the main island Värmdön, in size. The municipality in its present form was created in 1974, when "old" Värmdö was amalgamated with Gustavsberg (which had been detached from it in 1902) and Djurö. Sandhamn
Sandhamn (Swedish language, Swedish for "Sand Harbour") is a small settlement in the central-peripheral part of the Stockholm Archipelago at the 59th parallel northnord59.se in central-eastern Sweden. approximately 50 km (30 mi) east of Stockholm. Evert Taube
Axel Evert Taube (; 12 March 1890 – 31 January 1976) was a Swedish author, artist, composer and singer. He is widely regarded as one of Sweden's most respected musicians and the foremost troubadour of the Swedish ballad tradition in the 20th century. Early life Evert Taube was born in 1890 in Gothenburg, and brought up on the island of Vinga, Västergötland, where his father, Carl Gunnar Taube, a ship's captain, was the lighthouse keeper. Sjösala Vals
Sjösala vals ("Waltz of Sjösala") is a Swedish waltz written in 1941 at Rejmyre by Evert Taube. It was recorded by Sven-Olof Sandberg in 1941 as B-side to his single ''Flicka från Backafall''. It was published in '' Sjösalaboken'' in 1942 during the World War II, Taube wanted to "''besjunga skönheten och glädjen som kriget hotar att förgöra''" ("sing about the beauty and happiness which the war threatens to destroy"). It is a famous sing-along song in Sweden. Sjösala is the name of the summer house of the family Taube, located in Stavsnäs in the Stockholm archipelago. The description of the family's life at the archipelago has been as a picture of the Swedish summer holiday. The Taube family is an ancient Baltic nobility, Baltic-German noble family settled in Jutland, whose earliest roots can be traced to Westphalia, Germany.
