Sodwalls, New South Wales
Sodwalls is a small hamlet in New South Wales, Australia Sodwalls is located about west of the state capital, Sydney and south-west of the city of Lithgow. The local tourist association claims that "between 1827 and 1829 a sod walls house with grass-thatched roof was built for troopers on Major Lockyers Road and called ‘Sodwalls.’" Sodwalls used to have a railway station on the Main Western Railway. This line is used by the '' Central West XPT'' service from Sydney to Dubbo with stops at Rydal to the east and Tarana to the west. Theresa (Cissie) McLaughlin, a Catholic nun who was superior of Our Lady's Nurses for the Poor in Sydney, was born in Sodwalls in 1890. Bathurst () is a city in the Central Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia. Bathurst is about 200 kilometres (120 mi) west-northwest of Sydney and is the seat of the Bathurst Region, Bathurst Regional Council. Lithgow is a city in the Central Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia and is the administrative centre of the City of Lithgow local government area. It is located in a mountain valley named Lithgow's Valley by John Oxley in honour of William Lithgow. Dubbo Railway Station
Dubbo railway station is a heritage-listed railway station and bus interchange located on the Main Western line in Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia. The station serves the city of Dubbo and was opened on 1 February 1881. The station is also known as Dubbo Railway Station and yard group. The property was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999. The station and associated yards were designed by the office of the Engineer-in-Chief of the NSW Government Railways, under the direction of John Whitton. Dubbo was a major railway centre, being the junction for the Main Western, Molong–Dubbo and Coonamble lines and maintaining a sizeable locomotive depot. Rydal Railway Station
Rydal railway station is a heritage-listed railway station located on the Main Western line in Rydal, City of Lithgow, New South Wales, Australia. It is also known as Rydal Railway Station group. The property was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999. History The station opened on 1 July 1870 and was the next finished extension west from Lithgow after Wallerawang had been finalised four months earlier. Two years later the line was again extended finishing at before reaching in 1876. On 14 March 1915, the line was duplicated with a second platform built.
