Snödrömmar
''Snödrömmar'' (English: ''Snow Dreams'') is the Sveriges Television's Christmas calendar series for 2024. It was broadcast daily from 1 December to 24 December 2024 (Christmas Eve). Swedish is the main language of the series, with some Southern Sámi. There is also a version dubbed in Southern Sámi and a version subtitled in Northern Sámi. Plot ''Snödrömmar'' is a story about a Southern Sami family that run a ski resort. No snow falls this year—mysteriously, only on their particular mountain—putting their home and livelihood at risk. The family's two daughters Ristin and Aila become involved in a quest to find out the reason and bring back the snow. Their recently deceased grandmother had known the secret behind the strange occurrence, and her spirit guides them. City councillor Lena wants the resort to fail so that she can build an arena on the site, and uses underhand tactics against the family. Christine Meltzer
Marie Christine Meltzer Lind (born 4 December 1974 in Viksjö) is a Swedish television hostess, actress and comedian. She rose to fame as an impersonator on the TV4 comedy show Hey Baberiba. She has also hosted the Swedish version of ''Popstars'' and hosted the 2010 Melodifestivalen with Måns Zelmerlöw and Dolph Lundgren. Shirley Natasja Clamp (born 17 February 1973) is a British-Swedish pop singer. She has achieved four Top 10 singles in Sweden including a Number 1 with " Med hjärtat fyllt av ljus" in 2009, and three Top 10 albums. Maxida Märak
Ida Amanda "Maxida" Märak (born 17 September 1988) is a Swedish-Sámi joik singer, hip hop musician, actress and activist. Märak is a human rights activist with a special interest in the rights of the Sámi people. She has taken part in protests against the Kallak mine, establishment of an iron ore mine in Kallak. In 2014, she recorded the album ''Mountain Songs and other Stories'' along with the bluegrass band Downhill Bluegrass band. Also in 2014, she took part in the Sveriges Television, SVT show ''Sápmi Sessions'' along with Aki and King Fari Band. SVT1 (SVT Ett; commonly referred to as Ettan) is the primary television station of the Swedish public service broadcaster Sveriges Television in Sweden. History Television in Sweden officially launched on 4 September 1956 with the launch of ''Radiotjänst TV'', renamed ''Sveriges Radio TV'' a year later. It would take a few years before achieving national coverage. SVT Barn, formerly Barnkanalen and SVT B, is a Swedish free-to-air television channel from state broadcaster Sveriges Television dedicated to children's television programming. ''Barn'' is Swedish for ''children'', whereas ''Barnkanalen'' meant ''The Children's Channel''. (No relation to the British '' The Children's Channel''.) SVT Play
SVT Play is the brand used for the video on demand service offered by Sveriges Television, more specifically to the streaming services offered on the SVT website, svt.se, and its counterpart for mobile phones. The brand was introduced in December 2006, when the existing streaming television service got a new name. In September 2007, SVT launched their own channel on YouTube. From late 2007 until end of 2008 SVT Play was also available as a channel on Joost. SVT claims that the service offers more than 2,000 hours of television. Southern or South Sámi (; ; ) is the southwesternmost of the Sámi languages, and is spoken in Norway and Sweden. It is an endangered language. The designated main village of the language in Norway is Snåasen Municipality (Snåsa) where the country's sole museum about Southern Sámi () and a long-running Southern Sámi primary school for Years 1 through 7 (). Southern Sámi belongs to the Saamic group within the Uralic language family. Northern Sámi or North Sámi ( ; ; ; ; ; disapproved exonym Lappish or Lapp) is the most widely spoken of all Sámi languages. The area where Northern Sámi is spoken covers the northern parts of Norway, Sweden and Finland.
