Sitamarhi
Sitamarhi is the headquarters of the Sitamarhi district in Tirhut Division, Bihar. The city was named in honour of Sītā, wife of Rāma, who was born in Sitamarhi according to Hindu legends. In 1875, a subdivision for Sitamarhi was created within the Muzaffarpur district. Sitamarhi District
Sitamarhi is one of the districts in the Indian state of Bihar. Dumra is the administrative headquarters of this district. The district is a part of the Tirhut Division and is located along the border of Nepal. It is the part of the Mithila region in the Indian subcontinent. It is believed to be the place of manifestation of Goddess Sita in the ancient Mithila Kingdom while the legendary King Janaka in the epic Ramayana was ploughing a farm field in the present city of Sitamarhi. Sita (; ), also known as Siya, Jānaki and Maithili, is a Hindu goddess and the female protagonist of the Hindu epic ''Ramayana''. Janaki Sthan
Janaki Sthan ( Sanskrit: जानकी स्थान ) is a historical place related to the temple of Sita, Goddess Sita in the city of Sitamarhi. According to some scholars and saints, Janaki Sthan is claimed to be the place where Goddess Sita manifested in ''Ramayana''. This temple is called Janaki Sthan Mandir. This temple is about 2 kilometers away from Sitamarhi Junction railway station, Sitamarhi Railway Station. It comes under Ramanuja tradition in Hinduism. Bhitthamore
Bhitthamore or Shrikhandi Bhittha is an Indian village in the Mithila region of Bihar, situated near the Indo-Nepal border, on the banks of the perennial Ratnawati (Raato) river. Geography The village has a border checkpoint at the crossing to Malibara, Jaleshwar, Nepal. Bhitthamore is about 30 kilometres east of its district headquarters, Sitamarhi.
