Simona Petrík
Simona Petrík (, born 10 November 1982) is a Slovakia, Slovak politician who served as a member of the National Council (Slovakia), National Council of Slovakia from 2016–2020 and is serving again from 2023. Early life Petrik was born on 10 November 1982 in Liptovský Mikuláš, Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. She studied political science at Comenius University in Bratislava. Prior to her political career, Petrik worked in the field of language education, running an English language educational agency. Petrik was also involved in Feminism, feminist causes in Slovakia, working with the organization Real Women and founding the Women's Platform of Slovakia. Political career Petrík entered politics in 2015 as a member of Slovak Conservative Party, SIEŤ, where she provided support to the party around women's issues. 2016 Slovak Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Slovakia on 5 March 2016 to elect the 150 members of the National Council. The ruling left-wing populist Direction – Social Democracy (Smer) party remained the strongest party, but lost its majority. The Slovak Democratic and Christian Union – Democratic Party (SDKÚ–DS), which led the government between 2000–06 and 2010–12, was defeated heavily, failing to cross the electoral threshold and losing its representation in the National Council. The centre-right Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) also failed to cross the threshold for the first time since 1990, whilst the far-right nationalist Kotleba – People's Party Our Slovakia (ĽSNS) entered parliament for the first time. Oto Žarnay
Oto Žarnay (born 18 March 1969 in Košice) is a Slovak teacher, anticorruption activist and politician. Between 2016 and 2020, he served as an MP of the National Council, elected on the Ordinary People and Independent Personalities list. In February 2017, he was one of the founding members of the Together – Civic Democracy party. Early life Žarnay studied Pedagogy at the University of Prešov. He worked as a proofreader, editor and teacher. Whistleblower Žarnay worked as a teacher at Commerce Academy high school on the Polárna street in Košice. He was also the director of the teacher parents association at the school. In 2013 he wrote a public letter to the Prime Minister Robert Fico, stating that the school pays €400 monthly for likely bogus "external legal services". Jozef Mihál
Jozef Mihál (born 18 March 1965) is a Slovak politician and tax consultant. He was Deputy Prime Minister; Minister for Labour, Social Affairs, and Family; and deputy leader of Freedom and Solidarity (SaS). Mihál attended Charles University in Prague, graduating in mathematics and physics in 1988. He worked for Aurus. From 2005 to 2006, he served as an advisor to the government on reform of health insurance. From 2007, he has owned his own company, Relia, which provides consultancy and training on tax. He ran for the National Council with Freedom and Solidarity in the 2010 election. SaS came third, with 22 seats, while Mihál personally received the third-most votes amongst SaS candidates: easily winning election.
