Silverstone Britcar 24-Hour
The Silverstone 24 Hour was a sports car race in Endurance racing (motorsport), endurance racing, held annually at Silverstone Circuit in the United Kingdom until 2018. The race was originally organised by Britcar. The 2009 race was shortened to 500 miles due to the recession. In 2011 the race used the new arena section for the first time. In 2010 the race continued to use the bridge section that the race had used in previous years despite other racing series already switching to the new layout. The 2013 edition was shortened to 1000 km. For 2015 the race was called the Dunlop 24hr at Silverstone for sponsorship reasons. On October 2, 2015 24H Series#Creventic, Creventic, the promoter and organiser of the 24H Series and the Touring Car Endurance Series, announced they would organise the Silverstone 24-Hour race in 2016. Beechdean Motorsport (formerly Beechdean Mansell Motorsport) is a British motor racing team. The team was founded by Beechdean Farmhouse Dairy Ice Cream founder Andrew Howard, and has competed in the British GT Championship. For 2010, the team entered a partnership with Nigel Mansell that saw the team take on the name of Beechdean Mansell Motorsport. The Buckinghamshire based team ran a factory-supported Ginetta- Zytek GZ09S LMP1 in the 2010 Le Mans Series season. The drivers for the team were Nigel Mansell and his two sons Leo and Greg. Ross Patrick Gunn (born 1 January 1997) is a British professional racing driver, and Aston Martin Racing works driver who currently competes in the IMSA SportsCar Championship and the FIA World Endurance Championship for The Heart of Racing in the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH. Career Gunn began his racing career in karting at the age of eight, winning the British Super One MiniMax Championship in 2011 before taking the British Super One Junior Rotax Championship title the following year. In 2013, he graduated to single-seater formula competition, competing in the BRDC Formula 4 series. However, he was forced to miss the final two rounds of the season due to a lack of funding. The Aston Martin Vantage is a series of hand-built sports cars from the British automotive manufacturer Aston Martin. Aston Martin has previously used the "Vantage" name on high-performance variants of their existing Grand tourer, GT models, notably on the Aston Martin Virage, Virage-based car of the 1990s. Phil Keen (born 20 October 1983 in Reading, Berkshire) is a British professional racing driver who currently competes in the European Le Mans Series for JMW Motorsport.
