Guðmundur Ari Sigurjónsson
Guðmundur Ari Sigurjónsson (born 12 September 1988) is an Icelandic politician and member of the Althing. A member of the Social Democratic Alliance, he has represented the Southwest constituency since November 2024. Guðmundur was born on 12 September 1988. He is the son of Sigurjón Gunnarsson and Edda Kjartansdóttir. He grew up in Seltjarnarnes and was educated at the Valhúsaskóli. He later studied at the Fjölbrautaskólinn við Ármúla, Verkmenntaskóli Austurlands and Fjölbrautaskólinn í Breiðholti. Rúnar Már Sigurlaugarson Sigurjónsson (born 18 June 1990) is an Icelandic professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Besta deild karla club ÍA. He started out his senior career at local team Tindastóll, after which he went on to compete professionally in the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Kazakhstan and Romania. Jóhann Sigurjónsson (June 19, 1880 – August 31, 1919) was an Icelandic playwright and poet. Atypically, Jóhann wrote plays and poetry in both his native Icelandic and in Danish. Biography Jóhann was the son of an Icelandic farmer and was born in Laxamýri, Iceland. In 1899 he emigrated to Denmark to study at The Royal Danish Veterinary and Agricultural University, but abandoned his studies in 1902 to devote himself to literature. During this period, he came under the influence of the Danish writer Georg Brandes and the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche. He is probably best known for his play ''Fjalla-Eyvindur'' (Danish: ''Bjærg-Ejvind og hans hustru'', English: ''Eyvindur of the Mountains''), which was first published in 1911. Frosti Sigurjónsson (born December 19, 1962, in Reykjavík) is an Icelandic businessman and politician. He was a member of parliament for the Progressive Party (Iceland), Progressive Party from 2013 to 2016. Frosti has an MBA from the London Business School (1991). Guðmundur Sigurjónsson (born 25 September 1947) is an Icelandic chess grandmaster. He is a three-time Icelandic Chess Champion. Chess career Born in 1947, Guðmundur earned his international master title in 1970 and his grandmaster title in 1975. He was the 2nd Icelandic player to get the grandmaster title after Friðrik Ólafsson. He won the Icelandic Chess Championship three times (1965, 1968 and 1972). Sigurður Sigurjónsson, commonly referred to as Siggi Sigurjóns, is an Icelandic actor, comedian and screenwriter, best known as a member of the comedy group Spaugstofan. He has starred in a number of films and television series since the late 1970s, as well as acting in the National Theatre of Iceland. He is famous for his recurring characters in the ''Spaugstofan'' television series, including Ragnar Reykás and ''Kristján Ólafsson''. John Snorri Sigurjónsson (20 June 1973 – 5 February 2021) was an Icelandic mountaineer. In May 2017, he became the first Icelander to summit Lhotse in the Himalayas, which is 8,516 meters high and the fourth highest mountain in the world. On July 28 of the same year, he became the first Icelander to summit K2. On 4 August 2017, he successfully summited Broad Peak (8051 m). On 5 February 2021, John Snorri along with Ali Sadpara and Juan Mohr went missing while attempting a K2 summit push from Camp 3.
