Shrinivas Khale
Shrinivas Vinayak Khale (30 April 1926 – 2 September 2011), fondly addressed as "Khale Kaka", was an Indian composer/music director from Maharashtra, India. Career Shrinivas initially studied at the Music College (now the Faculty of Performing Arts of Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda) and obtained his Diploma in vocal music. Shrinivas was trained by Madhusudan Joshi of the Agra-Atrauli gharana (school of music). Although Khale primarily composed music for the Marathi film industry, he composed music in other Indian languages as well: Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati and Sanskrit. He recorded 141 poems and composed music for six Marathi films (''Yanda Kartavya Ahe''–1956, ''Bolki Bahauli''–1961, ''Palsala Pane Teen''–year not known, ''Jivhala''–1968, ''Porki''–1970, and ''Sobati''–1971; A film ''Laxmi Pujan''–1952 was never released). Bal Gandharva
Narayan Shripad Rajhans, popularly known as Bal Gandharva, (26 June 1888 – 15 July 1967) was a famous Marathi singer and stage actor. He was known for his roles as female characters in Marathi plays, since women were not allowed to act on stage during his time. Bal Gandharva got his name after a singing performance in Pune. Lokmanya Tilak, a social reformer and a freedom fighter of the Indian independence movement was in the audience, and after the performance, reportedly patted Rajhans on the back and said that Narayan was a ''"Bal Gandharva"'' ( Young Gandharva). Sudhir Phadke
Sudhir Phadke (; born Ram Phadke; 25 July 1919 – 29 July 2002) was an Indian singer-composer. He is regarded as an icon of the Marathi film industry and Marathi Sugam Sangeet with a legacy spanning five decades. Apart from Marathi, Phadke sang and composed songs in several Hindi films as well. Phadke's nickname was Babuji. Life Sudhir Phadke was born in Kolhapur on 25 July 1919. His birth name was Ram Phadke, but he later changed his name to 'Sudhir' when he composed a song for His Master's Voice. Phadke acquired his primary tutelage in vocal classical music from the late Vamanrao Padhye in Kolhapur.
