Shezad Dawood
Shezad Dawood (born 1974) is a British visual artist. He is based in London. Biography Shezad Dawood was born in 1974, in London, England. His artworks reflect his varied cultural heritage, which includes having a Pakistani mother, an Indian father, and an Irish stepmother. Dawood trained at Central Saint Martins and received his MA degree from the Royal College of Art in 2000, before undertaking a PhD from the School of Arts at Leeds Metropolitan University (now Leeds Beckett University) in 2008 (Fine Art), his thesis was titled 'The killing of Chief Crazy Horse: a metaphorical allegory in 3 parts'. He was a research fellow in experimental media at the University of Westminster. Dawood works across the disciplines of painting, film, neon, sculpture, performance, virtual reality and other digital media to ask key questions of narrative, history and embodiment. Qatar Post
Qatar Post (formerly Q-Post) is the national provider of postal services in Qatar. Its headquarters building, the General Post Office, has been on the Doha Corniche since 1988. The company was established in 1950 as the General Postal Corporation and the country's first post office opened in Doha that same year. At first, in compliance with treaty obligations, British stamps were in use. These were issued in Indian rupee denominations with QATAR over-printed in English. The first date-stamp was used for registered letters at Doha Post Office on 17 May 1953. Additional post offices were opened at Dukhan in 1956 and at Umm Said in 1960. In 1980, the company began to provide first-class mail. In 1988, the Central Post Office in Doha was built, though it had been planned to open two years earlier. Sarah Perks is an international curator and producer of contemporary visual art, independent film, and engagement. She served as the Artistic Director for Visual Arts and Film at HOME, the centre for international contemporary arts, theatre, and film formed by the merger of Cornerhouse and the Library Theatre Company. Qatar National Theater
Qatar National Theater is located on the Doha Corniche, near Al Bidda Park in Doha, Qatar. The 490-seat theatre opened in 1986 and hosts concerts and plays. In addition to hosting local troupes, it also hosts international and Arab theatrical troupes on occasion. It is owned by the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage.
