Sheikh Shaheb Ali
Sheikh Shaheb Ali (; 1 July 1915 – 1 June 2004) was a Bangladeshi association football, football player and coach. He is the only East Pakistani to have both played for and coached the Pakistan national football team. He was the first head coach of the Bangladesh national football team, guiding them at the 1973 Merdeka Tournament, 1973 Merdeka Cup. He holds the record of coaching Bangladesh to their first ever victory in international football. Ali was a key member of the Dhaka Mohammedan team that made its First Division League debut in 1938. He also represented the East Pakistan football team both as a player and a coach, while also earning the honor of captaining the side. Later, he guided the team to its first National Football Championship (Pakistan), National Football Championship as a coach. The West Bengal football team (), also known as IFA Bengal football team or earlier the Bengal football team, is an Indian football team representing West Bengal in Indian state football competitions including the Santosh Trophy. 1944–45 Santosh Trophy
The 1944–45 Santosh Trophy was the second edition of the Santosh Trophy, the main State competition for football in India. It was resumed in 1944 after a break of two years. Delhi defeated the defending champions Bengal in the final. Like the previous tournament, the regional matches were played across India. Preliminary Matches Raman scored the winning goal in the extra time. This was the South Zone final and Mysore qualified to meet Bengal in the national semifinal. The match was attended by a crowd of twenty thousand. Semi-final According to the original schedule, the Mysore-Bengal semifinal was scheduled to be held in Calcutta on November 16 and final at Delhi on September 21. Dhaka Senior Division Football League (), or the First Division Football League, is the third tier football league in Bangladesh. Until 2006, it was the top-tier league of the country. It was established in 1948 as part of the Dhaka League, while modern-day Bangladesh was still part of Pakistan. The Dhaka Second Division Football League () is the fourth-tier association football, football league in Bangladesh and the second-highest league division in Dhaka. Matuail is located in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), Ward no. 62(part), 63, 64, 65 & 66(part), Dhaka Division, Bangladesh. History Matuail lies within the Dhaka-Narayanganj-Demra Irrigation Project (DND) area. The project, started in 1962 and completed in 1968, was meant to transform the floodplain of three rivers: the Buriganga, Balu, and Shitalakshya, into an agricultural polder protected by embankments against flooding and drained or irrigated by a pumping station.
