Shaker Asad
Shaker Asad (born August 18, 1979) is a Palestinian former soccer midfielder who spent three seasons in Major League Soccer and one in the USL First Division. He also played for the Palestinian national team. Asad is currently on the staff of Wake FC. Club career Early career Asad was born in the Gaza Strip, and grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina where he attended Athens Drive High School. Asad was second team All-ACC in 1998, and First Team All-ACC at N.C. State in 1999, when he led the Wolfpack with 19 points. Asad, who was regarded as one of the top midfielders in the ACC Conference, announced in January of 2000 that he would forgo his final year of eligibility in order to make himself available for the MLS draft. Leo Cullen (soccer)
Leo Cullen (born February 28, 1976, in Burnsville, Minnesota) is a retired American soccer defender who spent seven seasons in Major League Soccer and earned three caps with the United States men's national soccer team. Player Cullen played college soccer at the University of Maryland from 1994 to 1997. He was the 1997 ACC Player of the Year and a 1997 First-Team All-American. Professional On February 2, 1998, the Miami Fusion made Cullen the first draft pick in team history, taking him first overall in the 1998 MLS College Draft. Cullen spent the next three and a half seasons in Miami (he left the team as the club's all-time leader in games and minutes). Johnny Torres
Johnny Torres (born April 24, 1976) is a Colombian-American soccer midfielder and coach who is currently the head coach of his alma mater, Creighton Bluejays, Creighton University. Torres has played in Major League Soccer, USL-1, and also played for the Omaha Vipers of the Major Indoor Soccer League (2008–), Major Indoor Soccer League. He has also earned caps with the U.S. Futsal team. Youth Torres was born in Medellín, Colombia, where his father and several uncles played semi-professional soccer. The 2001 New England Revolution season was the sixth season for the New England Revolution both as a club and in Major League Soccer (MLS). The club missed the playoffs after finishing third in the Eastern conference. The club was reached the final of the 2001 U.S. Open Cup, where they lost to the LA Galaxy. Generation Adidas
Generation Adidas is a joint venture between Major League Soccer and U.S. Soccer aimed at raising the level of young professional soccer talent in the United States. The program, sponsored by Adidas, offers professional-ready players in the U.S. developmental system not yet eligible for the MLS SuperDraft early entry, allowing MLS to compete with foreign professional clubs without comparable restrictions on player signing.
