Comunicaciones Fútbol Club S.A., better known as Comunicaciones F.C. or Comunicaciones, is a professional association football, football club based in Guatemala City. They compete in the Liga Nacional de Fútbol de Guatemala, Liga Nacional, the top tier of Guatemalan football. One of the most popular and successful football clubs in Guatemala, Comunicaciones have won 32 national championships, the most of any Guatemalan club team, including six consecutive. In addition to their 32 league titles, Comunicaciones have won eight league cups and ten Supercups. In international competition, Comunicaciones have won two UNCAF Interclub Cups, one CONCACAF Champions League, CONCACAF Champions Cup, and one CONCACAF League championship. The Liga Nacional de Fútbol de Guatemala (National Football League of Guatemala), officially known as the Liga Guate Banrural for sponsorship reasons, formerly known as Liga'' ''Mayor A (Major League A) is a professional football division in Guatemala, the highest one in the country. Guatemala National Football Team
The Guatemala national football team () represents Guatemala in men's international association football, football and is controlled by the National Football Federation of Guatemala, Federación Nacional de Fútbol de Guatemala (). Founded in 1919, it has been affiliated to FIFA since 1946, as a member of CONCACAF. The team has made three Football at the Summer Olympics, Olympic tournament appearances, competing at the Football at the 1968 Summer Olympics, 1968, Football at the 1976 Summer Olympics, 1976, and Football at the 1988 Summer Olympics, 1988 Olympic Games. Club Social y Deportivo Municipal, also known as Municipal or ''Los Rojos'' (the Reds), are a Guatemalan professional football club based in Guatemala City. They compete in the Liga Nacional, the top tier of Guatemalan football, and play their home matches at the '' Estadio El Trébol''. As of 2015, they are the team that has remained the most years at the top level in Guatemala, having done so since the inception of the national league in 1942. Estadio Doroteo Guamuch Flores
The Estadio Nacional Doroteo Guamuch Flores is a multi-use national stadium in Guatemala City, the largest venue in Guatemala. It was built in 1948, to host the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1950, and was renamed after long-distance runner Doroteo Guamuch Flores, winner of the 1952 Boston Marathon. It has a capacity of 26,000 seats. Used mostly for football (soccer) matches, the stadium has hosted the majority of the home matches of the Guatemala national football team throughout its history, and is the home of local football club Comunicaciones. The venue is operated by the '' Confederación Deportiva Autónoma de Guatemala'' (CDAG). CONCACAF Champions League
The CONCACAF Champions Cup, formerly known as CONCACAF Champions League (2008–2023), is an international association football competition organized by CONCACAF as its top continental tournament for clubs from North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. The champions automatically qualify for the FIFA Club World Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup. The tournament currently uses a knockout format; it had a group stage prior to the 2018 edition. Unlike its European and South American counterparts, the winners of the CONCACAF Champions Cup does not automatically qualify for the following edition of the tournament. CONCACAF League
The CONCACAF League was an international association football competition organized by CONCACAF as its secondary continental tournament for clubs from North America, Central America and the Caribbean. It was announced on 8 May 2017. The competition used a knockout cup format with each round having two legs. The top six teams proceeded to the CONCACAF Champions League. From 2019 to 2022 the tournament featured 22 teams, an increase from 16 in the 2017 and 2018 editions. The competition ended after the 2022 edition due to the expansion of the CONCACAF Champions League, (renamed to Champions Cup) starting with the 2024 edition. The ''Estadio Cementos Progreso'' is a multi-use stadium in Guatemala City. It is also known popularly as '' Estadio La Pedrera'' in reference to its location in the neighborhood of the same name in the Zone 6 of the Guatemalan capital. It was built in 1991 and is named after ''Cementos Progreso'', a local cement manufacturer. Antigua Guatemala Fútbol Club is a Guatemalan professional football team based in Antigua Guatemala. They compete in the Liga Nacional, the top tier of Guatemalan football.
