Seven Mile Beach is a rural residential locality in the local government area (LGA) of Clarence in the Hobart LGA region of Tasmania. The locality is about east of the town of Rosny Park. The 2016 census recorded a population of 1286 for the state suburb of Seven Mile Beach. History Seven Mile Beach was gazetted as a locality in 1966. Geography The waters of Frederick Henry Bay form most of the southern boundary, and Pitt Water the eastern and part of the northern. Road infrastructure Acton Road (Route C330) passes to the south-west, continuing onto Lauderdale. Estate Drive and Seven Mile Beach Road provide access to the locality from Acton Road. The electoral division of Franklin is one of the five electorates in the Tasmanian House of Assembly, located in southern Tasmania and includes Bruny Island, Kingston and the eastern shore of the Derwent River. Rosny Park is a suburb of Hobart, Tasmania, located in the City of Clarence on the eastern shore of the Derwent River. It is about five kilometres from the city centre of Hobart. Rosny Park is the commercial twin of its residential namesake, Rosny. History The history of Rosny Park goes back to first settlement where the area was part of Kangaroo Point, later renamed Bellerive. The area was rezoned splitting the areas of Bellerive and Rosny Park and gazetted as Rosny Park in 1977 and the boundaries re-gazetted in 1999. Rosny was named for a family name of W.A. Frederick Henry Bay is a body of water in the southeast of Tasmania, Australia. It is located to the east of the South Arm Peninsula, and west of the Tasman Peninsula.
