The 2021 census recorded a population of 2293 for Acton Park. It is a rural suburb of Hobart. In 2011 there were 2165 people living in Acton Park, ten of which being Indigenous. 51.2% were male and 48.8% were female. Acton Park is bounded to the east by the southern portion of the Meehan Range, to the south by Ralphs Bay, and to the east by Roches Beach, Single Hill and Seven Mile Beach. It is one of the more sought after living locations due to its easy commuting distance to Hobart, and because of the semi-rural character of the suburb itself. Ralphs Bay
Ralphs Bay is a body of water in south-east Tasmania, Australia. It is semi-enclosed by the Tranmere / Rokeby peninsula and the South Arm peninsula. Sea access to the bay is from the River Derwent. Ralphs Bay is a shallow, windy bay, situated on the south-east of the Derwent Estuary, about 12 kilometres from the south-east of Hobart in Tasmania, Australia. The bay is sheltered by the low, grassy hills of Droughty Point to the north-west and the spit of South Arm and Opossum Bay to the south-west. Meehan Range
The Meehan Range ( ) is a prominent geographic feature in southeastern Tasmania, consisting of steep hills and ridges running parallel to the River Derwent (Tasmania), River Derwent on the eastern shore of Hobart. Situated primarily in the City of Clarence, the range is protected as a natural area and offers a mix of conservation and recreational opportunities. The range includes bushwalking tracks and a growing network of mountain bike trails. The range is named after James Meehan (surveyor), James Meehan, an early surveyor of colonial Van Diemen's Land. 2021 Australian Census
The 2021 Australian census, simply called the 2021 Census, was the eighteenth national Census of Population and Housing in Australia. The 2021 Census took place on 10 August 2021, and was conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). It had a response rate of 96.1%, up from the 95.1% at the 2016 census. The total population of the Commonwealth of Australia was counted as 25,422,788, an increase of 8.6 per cent or 2,020,896 people over the previous 2016 census. Results from the 2021 census were released to the public on 28 June 2022 from the Australian Bureau of Statistics website. Oakdowns, Tasmania
Oakdowns is a suburb of Hobart, the capital of Tasmania, Australia. It is within the City of Clarence and not far from Clarendon Vale. At the 2016 Australian Census Oakdowns recorded a population of 1468. Oakdowns has one park. It is a 20-minute drive to the CBD. Most houses have views of Mount wellington and Ralphs bay. Recreation Oakdowns Park is the only park in Oakdowns. The park has a rivulet running through it and has grounds suitable for ball games. The electoral division of Franklin is one of the five electorates in the Tasmanian House of Assembly, located in southern Tasmania and includes Bruny Island, Kingston and the eastern shore of the Derwent River.
