Serge Simard
Serge Simard (born 1950) is a Canadian politician in the province of Quebec. Simard was elected to represent the riding of Dubuc in the National Assembly of Quebec in the 2008 provincial election. He is a member of the Quebec Liberal Party and the delegate Minister for Natural Resources. A municipal councillor prior to his election, he was the president of the council in La Baie, a borough in the Saguenay region, and a member of several committees in the city of Saguenay. Chicoutimi
Chicoutimi ( , ) is the most populous borough (arrondissement) of the city of Saguenay in Quebec, Canada. It is situated at the confluence of the Saguenay and Chicoutimi rivers. During the 20th century, it became the main administrative and commercial centre of the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region. 2008 Quebec General Election
The 2008 Quebec general election was held in the Canadian province of Quebec on December 8, 2008. The Quebec Liberal Party, under incumbent Premier Jean Charest, was re-elected with a majority government, marking the first time since the 1950s (when the Union Nationale of Maurice Duplessis won four consecutive elections) that a party or leader was elected to a third consecutive mandate, and the first time for the Liberals since the 1930s, when Louis-Alexandre Taschereau was Premier.
