Scott Smith (born July 13, 1986) is an American long distance runner who specialized in the marathon. He competed in the marathon event at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics in Beijing, China. For his collegiate career, Smith attended University of California, Santa Barbara. The marathon is a long-distance foot race with a distance of , usually run as a road race, but the distance can be covered on trail routes. The marathon can be completed by running or with a run/walk strategy. There are also wheelchair divisions. The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos are the intercollegiate athletic teams who represent the University of California, Santa Barbara.
